The play

Create a shared, permissioned company knowledge base so agents begin work with current context and approved information.

Most AI agent demos focus on what the model can do in a single session. Almanac is betting that the bigger problem is what happens before the session starts.

Its setup gives an agent its own cloud computer and a shared team wiki. It supports personal and shared accounts, with one-click connections to tools including Gmail, Calendar, Granola and PostHog. The aim is simple. An agent should be able to begin work already aware of the company, its recent decisions, meetings, customer signals and operating context. That context can also carry across to other tools, such as Claude Code or Codex, rather than forcing every new agent session to start from scratch.

For a business owner, this is the practical issue to watch. AI becomes far more useful when it knows how your business actually runs, not just when it can write a good email or analyse a spreadsheet. But shared context also creates real questions around permissions, accuracy and who owns the source of truth. A stale wiki or poorly managed access could make an agent confidently wrong, at scale.

The Hacker News launch thread is climbing quickly, which suggests this idea is resonating with builders. The product is still a new launch, so the important test will be whether teams trust it with enough real operating context to make agents genuinely useful. This is the kind of thing we build into an AI command centre, where business context, data and workflows need to work together rather than sit in separate tools.
