A self-hostable chat and agent workspace, renamed from LobeChat to LobeHub in January 2026, that works with OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, OpenRouter, local Ollama and dozens of other providers.
Best for: Individuals and teams who want one chat and agent app across many model providers, hosted or on their own server.
Choose something else if: you want a light one-container install or a plain open-source licence. Version 2 needs PostgreSQL, S3-style storage and auth secrets, and the licence adds commercial conditions to Apache 2.0.

Using LobeHub (formerly LobeChat) in practice
Where it runs
Your own server with PostgreSQL and S3-style storage, or LobeHub Cloud run by LobeHub LLC. Desktop apps are also available.
How to install
Needs Docker Compose on Linux, macOS or Windows WSL 2, and a key from at least one model provider. Run the setup script in a new folder, start the stack and open http://localhost:3210.

bash <(curl -fsSL https://lobe.li/setup.sh) -l en
docker compose up -dAs published in the linked sources. Not run by us.
What it costs
Self-hosting the community edition is free, and you pay for your server and model usage. LobeHub Cloud is free with 500,000 credits a month. Starter, Premium and Ultimate cost US$12.9, US$24.9 and US$49.9 a month, or 20% less billed yearly. Every plan can use your own provider keys.
Prices and plans change. Check the linked sources before committing.
Why consider it
- Built-in providers or your own keys, local models through Ollama, LM Studio or vLLM, and MCP plugins.
- Self-host with Docker Compose or use LobeHub Cloud, which includes a free monthly credit allowance.
What to watch for
- The LobeHub Community License requires a commercial licence to distribute a modified version.
- The old lobe-chat images stopped updating in January 2026, so older one-line setup guides are out of date.
- A local model does not make the whole workflow private. Its docs note that sync, search and connectors can still send data out.
A first task to try
Add one provider key, create an agent with a short instruction, then ask it the same question with two different models and compare the answers.
