About ADR Review

A skill from the Prisma ORM repository for reviewing Architecture Decision Records. The agent reads each ADR as a team member without the author's context, explains the problems it finds in chat first (assumed context, buried decisions, leftover baggage), then rewrites the document so it leads with the decision, builds the reasoning step by step and puts rejected alternatives last.

Best for

Engineering teams that write ADRs and want them readable by people who were not in the room

Use cases

  • Tighten an ADR before it goes to the wider team
  • Clean up a batch of older ADRs so new hires can follow them
  • Get a structured critique of a design decision document before a review meeting

Notes

Why it matters

ADRs are written by people deep in the context and read later by people with none. This skill makes that gap explicit and fixes it, which is the main reason decision records stop being useful a year on.

Source

  • Skill file: skills-contrib/adr-review/SKILL.md in prisma/orm.
  • Repository: 47,665 GitHub stars, Apache-2.0 licence. Checked 24 Oct 2026 through the GitHub API.
  • Last change to the skill: 17 May 2026.
  • This page was written from the skill's own SKILL.md. It is not an Enterprise DNA source review and the skill has not been installed or tested by us.

Pros

  • Analyses first and rewrites second, so you can push back before files change
  • Clear rules for what a good ADR contains and what it must not
  • Works on one ADR or a whole folder

Cons

  • Opinionated about ADR structure, which may not match your template
  • Rewrites still need a human check for technical accuracy

Health and security

Is ADR Review looked after, and what do its setup files show

Security check static checks

100 out of 100

Reads what is published about the server: package advisories, licence, secrets in the documented setup and tool permissions. Nothing is installed or run, so this is not a security assessment. Checked by edna-skill-static-v1 main@f543fb4173e6. What it checks

  • Note No dependency list or install command was found in the skill, so there were no packages to look up on OSV.
