How we review records

From the listing

About Slack (agent-browser)

The Slack skill (upstream name slack) from Vercel Labs' agent-browser. It opens or connects to a Slack session in the browser, takes snapshots of the interactive elements, navigates channels, reads or extracts information, sends messages and captures screenshots as evidence. It works through the Slack web app rather than the Slack API.

Best for

Users who want an agent to work in Slack without setting up a Slack app

Use cases

  • Check which channels have unread messages
  • Search Slack for who said something and when
  • Send a message or pull information from a channel

Notes

Why it matters

Setting up a Slack app needs admin approval in many workspaces. Working through the browser session you already have avoids that, at the cost of speed.

Source

  • Skill file: skill-data/slack/SKILL.md in vercel-labs/agent-browser.
  • Repository: 44,535 GitHub stars, Apache-2.0 licence. Checked 24 Oct 2026 through the GitHub API.
  • Last change to the skill: 10 Sept 2026.
  • This page was written from the skill's own SKILL.md. It is not an Enterprise DNA source review and the skill has not been installed or tested by us.

Pros

  • No Slack app or API token needed
  • Screenshots capture what was found
  • From Vercel Labs

Cons

  • Browser automation is slower and more fragile than the API
  • Needs agent-browser installed and a signed-in session

  • Note No dependency list or install command was found in the skill, so there were no packages to look up on OSV.
