About Diagram Design

A diagram skill that produces self-contained HTML files with inline SVG in an editorial design system. It covers 45 visual types, from architecture and data flow diagrams to sequence diagrams, ER models, Gantt charts, Sankey, Wardley maps and service blueprints, and can import draw.io, Mermaid and Excalidraw files. Before the first diagram in a project it asks you to set up the style guide.

Best for

Engineers, architects and consultants who need diagrams that look finished

Use cases

  • Draw a system architecture diagram in your brand colours
  • Turn a Mermaid or draw.io diagram into a polished SVG
  • Make a timeline, swimlane or user journey for a presentation

Notes

Why it matters

Diagrams made by models usually look rough. This skill gives them a consistent design system and a branded style guide, so they can go straight into a document or deck.

Source

  • Skill file: skills/diagram-design/SKILL.md in cathrynlavery/diagram-design.
  • Repository: 60,673 GitHub stars, MIT licence. Checked 24 Oct 2026 through the GitHub API.
  • Last change to the skill: 24 Oct 2026.
  • This page was written from the skill's own SKILL.md. It is not an Enterprise DNA source review and the skill has not been installed or tested by us.

Pros

  • Very wide range of diagram types
  • Style guide step keeps diagrams on brand
  • Imports from common diagram tools

Cons

  • Output is HTML and SVG, not editable in draw.io afterwards
  • The number of types takes some learning

Health and security

Is Diagram Design looked after, and what do its setup files show

Security check static checks

100 out of 100

Reads what is published about the server: package advisories, licence, secrets in the documented setup and tool permissions. Nothing is installed or run, so this is not a security assessment. Checked by edna-skill-static-v1 main@0b9b10cab3db. What it checks

  • Note No dependency list or install command was found in the skill, so there were no packages to look up on OSV.
  • Note 227 files were not read (over 512 KB, or past the 60 file cap): skills/diagram-design/assets/example-dp-integration.html, skills/diagram-design/assets/example-dp-security-matrix-dark.html, skills/diagram-design/assets/example-dp-security-matrix-full.html and more.
