Instead of Booqable
Stop renting Booqable. Own your rental booking system.
Enterprise DNA builds your own booking and stock system around how you quote, pack, deliver and collect, brings your Booqable products, customers and orders across, and keeps it running for you.
Booqable's published plans: Start at US$29 a month billed yearly (US$35 monthly), Grow at US$69 (US$87 monthly), Scale at US$149 (US$187 monthly). That is US$348 to US$1,788 a year before add-ons such as barcode scanning at US$9 a user a month.

The price creep
How a US$29 Booqable plan becomes a bigger one
The entry plan is cheap on purpose. The things a growing hire business reaches for next, another person on the desk, a signed contract, a second shop, a scanner at the loading bay, each sit one plan up or one add-on over.
Start has no room for staff
The Start plan includes no extra users. The first person you hire to answer enquiries moves you to Grow, at US$69 a month billed yearly or US$87 monthly.
Signatures and pricing rules one tier up
E-signatures, advanced pricing rules, advanced revenue reports and API access are listed as Grow features. Signed hire terms are not on the entry plan.
A second shop needs Scale, then a fee
Multi-location is a Scale feature at US$149 a month billed yearly, and each extra location is US$29 a month on top. Opening a pickup point in the next town changes the bill twice.
Scanning charged per person
Barcode scanning is an add-on at US$9 a user a month billed yearly, US$12 monthly. Every person checking gear in and out at the bay is another line on the invoice.
The website is extra as well
The website builder is a separate add-on at US$19 a month billed yearly. Deliveries and mobile point of sale are further add-ons, each switched on and billed apart.
Yearly billing, no refunds
The 20% saving needs a year paid up front, and Booqable's pricing page says it does not refund unused time. Pay yearly and change your mind in month four, and the rest is gone.

Enquiries
Say yes or no on the first call
Ask what is free for a date and get each item with its rate, the next booking already against it, and anything on the shelf that cannot go out yet with the reason why.
- check Free stock by category, with the next job it is promised to
- check Items held back for repair, a failed check or an expired test tag, named plainly
- check A booking is refused if the gear is already committed or the customer is on stop
- check No limit on how many staff can ask, and no per-user fee to let them
After the event
Gear that has not come home
Every order past its return date appears with the days over and what each late line is worth, so someone rings the customer that morning, not at stocktake.
- check Late returns listed by customer and venue, with the running charge beside each
- check Collections that are booked but not yet picked up, flagged until the van is back
- check Damage charges recorded against the order, charged or waived
- check The billing run drafts every invoice due; a person checks and sends them
The back room
Repairs and test tags tracked properly
Each item carries its service interval and its test tag date, and a compliance check runs the rules a New Zealand hire business answers to against your own records.
- check Lights, heaters and anything with a plug tagged on the AS/NZS 3760 cycle
- check Items due for service flagged, including ones out on hire
- check Items that cost more in repairs than they earned last year, listed
- check Items that have not gone out in 90 days, with what they tie up

Switching
How to switch from Booqable
Moving off Booqable is a matter of exporting what it holds, mapping those records into your own database, and running both systems side by side for a few weeks before you let the old plan lapse.
- 1
Export your records from Booqable
Booqable lets you export orders, customers and inventory to CSV from each of those pages, and the Reports section exports the same way. Pull all three, not just one, since orders, customers and inventory each carry a different part of your business. This is the raw material everything else works from, so get the full set before you start anything on the other side.
- 2
Load them with a test run first
Bring the exported files into your new database. Booqable's columns do not line up one to one with the new records, so they need mapping first, which is the part Enterprise DNA does for you during setup. Run a test import before anything real happens. It shows what would be created without saving a thing, so you can check it over first.
- 3
Check what the import flags
Once the test run is done, look at what did not map cleanly and what got flagged instead of created. This is where gaps show up, a customer field that did not carry across, a rate that needs re-entering by hand, while nothing has actually been saved yet. Fix what needs fixing, then run the import again for real.
- 4
Run both systems side by side
Keep Booqable running while you start using the new records for real bookings, and check that orders and invoices match across both for a few weeks. Nothing about the move is final while both are live, and this stretch is what lets you trust the new numbers before you depend on them alone.
- 5
Cancel Booqable
Booqable gives no refund for unused time on a yearly plan, so most owners time this for the last month or two before renewal. Once the side by side period has checked out and you are confident the records match, cancel the plan and stop paying for two systems at once.
Where the real effort goes
The real work is not moving the data, it is deciding how your fields and rules should look on the other side: your rate cards, your categories, and how much order history is worth bringing across versus leaving behind. Booqable's columns do not map one to one, so someone has to make those calls. When Enterprise DNA installs and runs this for you, that mapping is handled as part of the setup.

Questions
Instead of Booqable, answered
Customers book online through my Booqable shop. What replaces that? expand_more
The free version does not include an online shop. It holds the stock, the bookings and the availability a shop reads from. When Enterprise DNA builds your version, we add a booking page to your own website that checks live availability against your records, with no website add-on to pay each month.
How do my Booqable records come across? expand_more
Booqable lets you export orders, customers and inventory to CSV from each page, and its reports export the same way. The free version's importer was written for a different hire system's files, so Booqable's columns need mapping first. Enterprise DNA does that mapping as part of the setup, and a test import shows what would be created before anything is saved.
I paid Booqable for the year. When is the right time to move? expand_more
Booqable does not refund unused time on a yearly plan, so most owners move in the last month or two before renewal. That leaves time to run both side by side for a few weeks and check the bookings and invoices match before the old plan lapses.
Does it take card payments and deposits? expand_more
The free version drafts invoices, and you take the money through the payment and accounting tools you already use, such as Xero or MYOB. Online card payment at booking is something Enterprise DNA connects when we build your version.
We are a small party hire business. Is this overkill? expand_more
The free version is free and open source, so a small business can start there. The built version is for owners who would rather not touch the setup and want their own booking page, rules and paperwork done for them.
Keep the bookings, drop the plan ladder
30 minutes with Sam. We look at which Booqable plan and add-ons you pay for today, what your team actually uses, and what your own version would cover. If it fits, we build it and bring your records across before your next renewal. If not, the free version is yours to keep.
