What people compare Buildxact with

Buildxact's own pricing runs US$199 to $599 a month, up to US$7,200 a year. Owners look elsewhere because job costing, the reason most builders buy the software, sits behind the higher plans, and the record of your own jobs and claims stays behind the vendor's login instead of in something you control.

How to choose

How to choose a Buildxact alternative

  1. 1

What the bill is tied to

With Buildxact, the bill climbs with the plan you're on, and job costing sits behind the top tiers. Ask whether you're paying for a subscription level or for the actual work of running your jobs, claims and costs.

  2. 2

    Whether your records stay yours

Buildxact stores your jobs, claims and cost history inside its own system, reachable through exports. Builders for Claude Code puts the same records in a database you own, so you can back it up, query it, or leave with everything intact.

  3. 3

Whether it fits your own rules

A generic plan applies the same fields and workflow to every builder. Enterprise DNA builds each business its own version around how it actually runs, with compliance rules like section 362F and payment claims under the Construction Contracts Act built in from the start.

  4. 4

    What the switch actually involves

Buildxact's own exports cover leads, estimates, jobs, contacts, clients and costings, so the data can move across in one import. Enterprise DNA brings your Buildxact data over, checks it as it lands, and sets your version running for a setup fee and a monthly retainer.

The option that fits

Own your version instead of renting theirs

Enterprise DNA builds each business its own version of Builders for Claude Code, shaped around how the business already runs, with the Buildxact data brought across and the gates set to the standard-form contract used on site. It runs for one setup fee, then a monthly retainer, with no per-seat plans. An owner who wants to run it without Enterprise DNA can start with the free version instead.

Questions

Buildxact alternatives, answered

How is pricing different from Buildxact's plans? expand_more

Buildxact charges by tiers, from Foundation to Master, with job costing locked behind the higher plans. Builders for Claude Code has no per-seat plans. Enterprise DNA builds your version for one setup fee, then a monthly retainer, and there is also a free version you can run yourself.

Can I bring my existing Buildxact data across? expand_more

Yes. Buildxact lets you export leads, estimates, jobs, contacts, clients and estimate costings to Excel or CSV. Enterprise DNA imports that data into your own database, and the import itself checks for missing contract dates and budgets as it lands.

Will it still handle progress claims and compliance rules? expand_more

Progress claims are built to the Construction Contracts Act: a claim can't exceed the contract plus approved variations, and overdue claims surface with the days counting. Nine compliance rules, from section 362F written contracts to retention trust money, run against your records with their sources on file.

What happens to my records if I stop paying? expand_more

With Buildxact, your history lives behind their login, reachable only through their exports. With Builders for Claude Code, your records sit in a database you own on your own machine or your own server, and you can export the whole thing in one step whenever you choose.
