Instead of Cin7 Omni
Stop renting Cin7 Omni. Own your distribution system.
Enterprise DNA builds your version around the way your counter, warehouse and accounts team already work, moves your Cin7 Omni products and contacts across, and runs it for you afterwards. Nothing to renegotiate when the team grows.
Cin7 does not publish a price for Omni. It is quoted privately for each business, with 8 users in the standard column, more available for purchase, and 5 store and app connections.

Inside the quote
What a Cin7 Omni quote is made of
Cin7 describes Omni as a custom solution for larger enterprises, priced to your requirements. Strip the screens away and the records are ordinary ones: a product list, stock per location, customers with their pricing, and the orders that move goods in and out.
A number you only see after a sales call
There is no figure on the pricing page, only an invitation to ask. You cannot compare it with anything until you have spent time with their sales team.
Logins counted into the deal
The comparison column lists 8 users, with more available for purchase. A new rep, a second packer or a part-time bookkeeper is a conversation about the contract.
Connections counted too
Omni lists 5 e-commerce and app integrations. A new marketplace, a freight tool or another webshop is one more slot to use up or buy.
Features the column leaves out
Advanced warehouse management, production planning, returns and the flexible API show as not available on Omni in Cin7's own comparison. What you need next may live in a different product.
Configuration that belongs to the vendor
Your locations, price tiers, workflows and document layouts are set up inside their system.
Exports one screen at a time
Products export from the product list and contacts from the CRM, each with its own export and its own choice of fields.
What you get instead
One set of records for the counter, the floor and the accounts team
Every location
Stock you can account for, unit by unit
What is on the shelf in each location comes from the movements that put it there: goods received, orders shipped, counts and adjustments, each with a reason.
- check Available, committed and inbound for every product in every location, from one ledger
- check An adjustment cannot be saved without saying why it happened
- check A reorder list that weighs live demand and each supplier's lead time, grouped into supplier orders
- check Slow stock listed with its value: nothing sold in 90 days and nothing committed
Trade orders
Promises you can keep
When stock runs short, the order says so, and says whether a supplier order is on its way to cover it or whether someone needs to place one today.
- check Each order line priced from the customer's own deal, their tier or the list, and records which one it used
- check Shortfalls split into those with an inbound date and those with no supplier order at all
- check Invoices drafted only for what actually left the building, GST shown separately, due on the customer's terms
- check Below-cost deals surface by name, so an old discount stops quietly losing money
Rules
The checks a distributor should run anyway
The obligations a New Zealand distributor carries are checks run against the records, each pointing to the rule it comes from.
- check Credit customers checked for signed terms of trade and a PPSR registration behind them
- check Hazardous products checked against the quantity your storage is certified to hold
- check Tax invoices checked for the information the GST rules require
- check Unexplained stock changes listed, because company records have to explain themselves
Kept
A system with nothing to renew
Your records sit in a database the business controls, and the paperwork goes out under your own name.
- check Bring your Cin7 Omni products and customer contacts across, checked on the way in
- check Invoices, picking slips, supplier orders and customer price lists carry your logo and GST number
- check Read-only dashboards of the warehouse and the money, in your colours
- check Ask for a new field, rule or report in a sentence. MIT licence, no contract to end.

Switching
How to switch from Cin7 Omni
A move like this involves exporting the records your account allows, mapping your fields and rules, checking what does not carry across, and confirming the new records alongside Cin7 before cutover.
- 1
Export the records you need
In Cin7 Omni, an administrator can export products from Products, then Actions, then Export Products, and choose fields or all fields. Export customer contacts from CRM using Export Contacts and the customer contact type. Cin7 has separate exports for purchase orders. Ask Cin7 what your account can export for suppliers, stock on hand and full history, and check whether the available files are CSV or Excel before you give notice.
- 2
Prepare the data to load
The documented import reads supplier, customer, product and stock on hand records from CSV. The Cin7 files will not necessarily use the same column names, so decide how your fields match before loading. Open orders, customer price deals and sales history are not included in the documented import. Plan to re-enter open orders and price deals, and decide which history you need to keep available separately.
- 3
Run a test import
Load a copy of the exports first, using the import's test run before applying changes. This lets you check whether the records and fields line up without changing your live data. Review the proposed matches and any records the test cannot place. If a Cin7 field has no clear match, decide whether it needs a new field or a different treatment before you load the working data.
- 4
Check the flagged records
After loading, review everything the import flags and resolve the issues that matter to your operation. Compare product, customer, supplier and stock counts with the Cin7 exports, and check key records such as prices and stock by location. Confirm separately how you will handle open orders, customer price deals and history, since these are not part of the documented import. Keep Cin7 available while you work through the differences.
- 5
Run both, then switch
Keep Cin7 and the new system running side by side for a short period. Use that time to compare stock, orders and other records you rely on, and to confirm your team can work with the new data. Once the checks are complete and you are ready to use the new system as the source of truth, stop entering new work in Cin7 and arrange to switch off the account.
Where the real effort goes
The real work is usually matching Cin7's fields to the new records, setting your own rules, and deciding which history is worth bringing across. Open orders and customer price deals need separate attention, and sales history is not part of the documented import. If Enterprise DNA installs and runs your version, it handles the field matching and import work with you.

Questions
Instead of Cin7 Omni, answered
Cin7 Omni has no public price. How do we know if switching saves money? expand_more
Start with your own invoice. On the call we put what you pay Cin7 each year, including extra users and connections, beside what your own version would cost to set up and run. If the numbers do not favour moving, we say so.
How do we get our records out of Cin7 Omni? expand_more
Cin7's help centre shows the steps. An administrator goes to Products, chooses Actions, then Export Products, ticks the fields or Check All, and downloads a spreadsheet file. Customers come out of the CRM the same way, under Export Contacts, filtered to the customer type. There are separate exports for purchase orders. Ask Cin7 what a full history export includes before you give notice.
Will those files load straight in? expand_more
Not as they are. The free version reads another system's layout, and Cin7 Omni names its columns differently. Matching them is part of what Enterprise DNA does when we build your version, and we always run it on a copy first, so nothing is lost.
We sell through shops and webshops as well as trade. Does this cover that? expand_more
The free version is built for the trade side: stock, orders, shortfalls, purchasing, pricing and invoicing. A point of sale, store connections or a customer ordering portal are things Enterprise DNA builds into your version on the same database, and we tell you on the call which of them are worth it.
Can everyone use it, or are we counting logins again? expand_more
Everyone. The counter, the warehouse, accounts and the owner work in the same records and ask their own questions. There is no charge per person, so hiring someone never reopens the contract.
Stop negotiating for access to your own stock
Thirty minutes with Sam. We go through what your Cin7 Omni quote covers once users and connections are counted, how your team actually takes orders, ships and bills, and what your own version would look like. If it fits, we build it. If not, the free version is yours to run.
