Instead of Civica Cx Housing
Stop renting Civica Cx Housing. Own your housing system.
We build your version around your rent policy and the way your team runs tenancies, bring your Cx Housing records across and run it for you.
Civica does not publish a price for Cx Housing. Providers sign multi-year agreements quoted privately, so ask for your renewal figure before you compare.

The recurring software bill
What the Cx Housing agreement pays for
Underneath, the work is plain: homes, households, rent, repairs and a waiting list. Much of what a multi-year agreement pays for is the screen around that work.
Prices by quote
No price list is published for Australia or New Zealand. Your figure comes from a sales conversation and the term you signed.
Multi-year terms
Providers announce five-year and multi-year agreements. Leaving early, or changing what you need, runs into the contract.
Modules
Rent and arrears, repairs, voids, allocations and service charges are separate modules. The scope you bought decides what your team can see.
One product for several countries
Cx Housing is also sold to UK councils and housing associations. Australian rent policy, Rent Assistance and state tenancy rules are settings someone has to keep current.
Portals and apps
Tenant and contractor portals and mobile working come with the platform. Count how many of your tenants actually use them.
Changes through the vendor
In a hosted product, a new report, rule or field is made within what the vendor supports and when it can be scheduled.
The work in your own database
From a household's income to a home that is let
Rent
Every rent worked out in the open
Each person in the household is counted at the rate your policy sets, then Family Tax Benefit and Rent Assistance, capped at market rent.
- check The working shown line by line for every household
- check Households paying more or less than the policy, and what that adds up to over a year
- check Income reviews due, with the request letter drafted
- check A rent rise flagged when the notice period is too short
Arrears
Arrears in days, against each state's line
The balance becomes days of rent, checked against the NSW, Victorian, Queensland or New Zealand threshold.
- check Who is past the threshold with no notice recorded
- check Who paid less than they were charged this month, before it becomes arrears
- check A supportive letter offering a payment plan, never a threat
- check Former tenants who left owing, listed apart
Homes
Empty homes and what is holding them up
Every void shows its days empty, the rent lost so far, the repairs it is waiting on and the applicants who fit it.
- check Repairs against target times by priority
- check Smoke alarm, gas, electrical and healthy homes checks with due dates
- check Days to relet by region
- check Contractors slowest against target, and what they cost
Allocations
From the waiting list to a signed tenancy
Match an empty home to the applicants who fit it, priority first, then record the offer, the answer and the new tenancy.
- check Applicants ranked by band and time waiting
- check Offers with no answer after a week
- check Applicants not contacted in a year
- check Complaints and appeals against your response time

Ten questions across every home and household
The free version answers these today, across every home at once. They show how your records fit together when rent, arrears, repairs and the waiting list sit in one place.
Switching
How to switch from Civica Cx Housing
A move involves exporting your Cx Housing reports, mapping your provider’s fields and rules, checking the imported records, and running both systems side by side before you switch.
- 1
Export your Cx Housing reports
Run your tenancy report, with property, tenancy and lead tenant details, and your rent balance report. Cx Housing reports are configured per provider, so check what your account allows and ask Civica if you need help. Save each report from Excel as a CSV. You can bring household members and income across next from your household report. Past transactions and attachments stay in Cx Housing for your records.
- 2
Load the records in a test run
Set up your rent policies and programs, then start with a test run of the tenancy report before saving anything. The import supports the tenancy report and the opening rent balances from your rent balance report. Load the balances separately and use the date they apply to. The test run shows counts before records are saved, so you can check the scope before you proceed.
- 3
Check counts and missing details
Compare the test-run counts with the reports you exported, and check that the properties, households, tenancies, rents, review dates and opening balances are represented as expected. The reports vary by provider, so some of your column names or fields may need mapping. Bring across household members and income from your household report next, or have Claude Code map them. Keep past transactions and attachments in Cx Housing.
- 4
Run both systems side by side
Keep Cx Housing available while your team checks the new database against current work. Compare records and opening balances, and check that staff can find the information they need for their usual housing tasks. Use this period to identify missing fields or rules that need attention. Decide what history your team needs to refer to in Cx Housing, including past transactions and attachments, before planning the switch.
- 5
Switch off Cx Housing
When your team has checked the imported records and is ready to work in the new system, stop using Cx Housing for current housing work. Keep access to it for the records you chose not to bring across, including past transactions and attachments. Your team still needs to manage the transition and decide how long those records must remain available.
Where the real effort goes
The real work is usually mapping your own report fields and rent rules, then deciding how much history to bring. The standard import covers key property, household, tenancy and balance records, while household members and income need a further step. Past transactions and attachments stay in Cx Housing. If Enterprise DNA runs the system for you, they handle this migration work.

Questions
Instead of Civica Cx Housing, answered
Does this replace everything Cx Housing does? expand_more
No. The free version covers the work a housing office does every week: homes, households, rent set from income, the rent account and arrears, income reviews, repairs, safety checks, empty homes, the waiting list, offers and complaints. It has no tenant portal, contractor app or general ledger. Enterprise DNA builds the pieces your provider needs into your version.
How do our Cx Housing records come across? expand_more
Run your tenancy report and your rent balance report in Cx Housing and save them from Excel. The free version brings homes, households, tenancies, rents, review dates and opening balances across, and a test run shows the counts before anything is saved. Household members and income come next, from your household report. Past transactions and attachments stay in Cx Housing for your records.
Will it work out rent the way our policy does? expand_more
Each policy sets its own rates: the share of income for tenants, partners and adults, the rate for 18 to 20 year olds, the share of Family Tax Benefit and Rent Assistance, and the market rent cap. Every household's rent is shown line by line. New Zealand income-related rent, assessed by the Ministry of Social Development, is recorded and checked against market rent.
What does it cost to have our version built? expand_more
The code is free to run yourself, with your own hosting and running costs. Enterprise DNA charges one setup fee, then a retainer for the agreed work. Your provider keeps its database and gets its rules, letters and screens shaped around how it works.
Are the compliance checks legal advice? expand_more
No. They show where your records say something needs doing: a rent rise with too little notice, arrears past the state threshold, a smoke alarm, gas or electrical check overdue, a home without a passed healthy homes assessment, a complaint not answered. Each finding names the rule it comes from. Your team still decides, and your sustaining tenancies policy still comes first.
