Enterprise DNA

Instead of Current RMS

Stop paying Current RMS by the login. Own your rental system.

Enterprise DNA builds your own rental system around how you quote, prep, deliver and return gear for a show, moves your Current RMS products, rates and contacts across, and keeps it running for you.

Current RMS publishes per-user pricing: A$126 a month for the first user (A$1,512 a year) and A$84 a month for each additional user (A$1,008 a year each). In US dollars, US$84.50 and US$52.50.

Where the money goes

A Current RMS invoice grows with your headcount

Your inventory, your rates and your customer list are your business. Current RMS charges for the logins that let your people look at them.

person

The first login

A$126 a month for the first user, which is A$1,512 a year before a second person in the company can sign in.

group_add

Every login after that

A$84 a month for each additional user, A$1,008 a year each. The warehouse lead, the crew chief and the bookkeeper are each one more line on the bill.

event

Peak season priced by people

Users are added for the busy months and charged pro rata. The more hands you put on a festival weekend, the bigger the invoice, whatever the jobs earn.

inventory_2

Quotes and invoices left behind

The export tool lists contacts, organisations, venues, vehicles, products, rates, stock levels and serialised components. Your opportunities, orders and invoices are not on that list.

timer

Exports that expire

Only an administrator can run an export, and the files are kept for 48 hours. Getting your own records out is a task, not a habit.

code

Paperwork that needs a web developer

Your logo goes on easily. Changing your document layouts beyond that takes HTML and CSS, or a request to their team.

What you get instead

Your rental business, answered in plain words

Before the show

Say yes to the quote with confidence

Ask what is free for a date and get the answer by category, with the gear that is in the warehouse but not fit to go out listed separately, with the reason.

  • check What is available for the dates, and the next booking already waiting for each item
  • check Gear held back for an expired test tag or an overdue service, named honestly
  • check A booking refuses gear already committed to another job
  • check Customers on stop flagged before anyone loads the truck

After the show

Gear that did not come home

Every booking running past its return date is listed with the days over and what the overrun is worth, so the late truck becomes a charge, not a mystery.

  • check Late returns, with the days over and the value accruing beside each item
  • check Items marked returned but still on a venue floor, flagged until they are back
  • check Day rates, weekly caps and free days kept as one rule, applied the same every time
  • check Invoices drafted from the bookings for a person to check and send

The workshop

Tags, services and damage on record

Every lead, amp and lift carries its own test and service dates. A compliance check runs the rules, with their sources, against your records.

  • check Electrical test and tag tracked on the AS/NZS 3760 cycle
  • check Lifts and elevated work platforms with their inspection dates
  • check Damage logged on return and tracked until it is charged or waived
  • check What is out at a venue right now with lapsed paperwork, the question a rental dashboard rarely leads with

Ownership

Your records, your layouts, your rules

Plain records you own outright, paperwork in your own brand, and changes made by describing them.

  • check Your Current RMS product, rate and contact exports brought in with a test run first
  • check Hire agreements, return dockets and invoices printed with your logo and colours
  • check Printable dashboards of the week ahead, what is late and what is in the workshop
  • check Add a field, rename a status or change a rule by asking for it. MIT licence, nothing to cancel.

Switching

How to switch from Current RMS

A move like this involves exporting the records Current RMS makes available, mapping its columns to the new database, and deciding how to handle history that is not on the export list.

  1. 1

    Export the available records

Ask a Current RMS administrator to run Export Data. Select contacts, organisations, venues, vehicles, product groups, products, accessories, rates, stock levels and serialised components that your account allows. Download the files straight away because Current RMS keeps them for 48 hours. Quotes, orders and invoices are not on this export list. For past jobs, rebuild that history from your accounting system.

  2. 2

    Map and load the data

The free version expects a different column layout, so map the Current RMS columns to the fields in the new database. You can ask Claude Code to do the mapping, or have Enterprise DNA do it when they run the system for you. If the import offers a test run, use it before loading the mapped records.

  3. 3

    Check the imported records

Review any warnings or rows the import marks, then compare record counts and sample records with Current RMS. Check that key details such as product descriptions, rates and stock levels have landed as expected. Confirm which history is absent, especially quotes, orders and invoices, so you do not treat it as transferred when it is not.

  4. 4

    Run both side by side

Keep Current RMS as the live record for a short period while you check the new database against real work. Compare current bookings, returns, stock levels and rates, and try the questions your team needs answered. Make sure everyone knows which system to update during this period, and do not assume changes entered in one system appear in the other.

  5. 5

    Switch off Current RMS

When your checks are complete and the team is ready, make the new database the place for new work and stop entering records in Current RMS. Before ending your Current RMS account or subscription, check with Current RMS about its process and whether you need a final export. Keep the records your business needs in the new system or your accounting records.

construction

Where the real effort goes

The work is usually in mapping your own fields, categories, rates and operating rules to the new database, then deciding how much history to bring across. The Current RMS export list does not include quotes, orders or invoices, so past jobs need rebuilding from accounting records. Enterprise DNA handles the mapping when you have them run the system. With the free version, you do that work with Claude Code.

Questions

Instead of Current RMS, answered

We run events and AV, not a plant yard. Does a hire system fit? expand_more

The core is the same: gear, customers, bookings, returns, repairs and invoices. The free version handles those today. Crew rosters, venues, packaged kits and transport planning are what Enterprise DNA adds when we build your version, set up around how your shows actually run.

How do my Current RMS records come across? expand_more

An administrator runs Export Data in Current RMS and ticks contacts, organisations, venues, products, rates, stock levels and serialised components. The files are kept for 48 hours, so download them straight away. The free version expects a different column layout, so the columns need mapping: we do that for you, or you ask Claude Code to do it. Quotes, orders and invoices are not on the export list, so your past jobs need rebuilding from your accounting system.

We add people for the busy season. What does that cost here? expand_more

Nothing per person. The records sit in a database your company owns, and anyone you give access to can look at them. On Current RMS each additional user is A$84 a month.

Does it handle test and tag on our electrical gear? expand_more

Yes. Every item carries its test date and the AS/NZS 3760 cycle it is on, gear with a lapsed tag is held back from bookings, and the compliance check lists what is out of date, including anything already sitting at a venue.

Does it replace Xero or MYOB? expand_more

No. It drafts invoices from your bookings in your own layout, and you send and reconcile them in the accounting system you already use. When Enterprise DNA builds your version, we can connect it straight to your accounts.

Put the whole crew on the job, not on the invoice

30 minutes with Sam. We look at how many Current RMS logins you pay for, what your warehouse and project managers really use, and what your own version would look like. If it fits, we build it and move your records across. If not, the free version is yours to keep.
