The plans
What Deputy charges
Deputy prices its plans per person per month, from Lite at A$6.75 through Core at A$8.75 to Pro at A$13, with Payroll and HR add-ons layered on top. A A$30 monthly minimum applies whether you roster a full team or a quiet week, so the bill grows with every hire and every plan upgrade.
Lite
A$6.75 per person per month
The entry tier, priced per person before any add-ons are switched on.
Core
A$8.75 per person per month
A one-cafe, 20-staff team on Core runs to about A$2,100 a year.
Pro
A$13 per person per month
A three-site, 60-staff team on Pro runs to about A$9,400 a year.
Payroll add-on
A$5 per person per month
Charged on top of whichever plan you already pay for.
HR add-on
A$3.50 per person per month
A second add-on stacked on top of the plan and the Payroll add-on.
How the bill is built
A price on every person
Lite is A$6.75, Core A$8.75 and Pro A$13, per person per month. Every casual added to cover a Saturday shift is another line on the bill, so the total moves with headcount, not with how much rostering actually happens.
Tiers that gate the basics
The report, rule or forecast you need often sits one plan up from the one you are on. Moving up a tier does not add one feature quietly, it reprices every person on the roster at once.
Add-ons stacked on the plan
Payroll adds A$5 per person per month and HR adds A$3.50 per person per month, both charged on top of whatever plan you already pay. A 60-person team taking both add-ons adds real money before payroll has even run.
A minimum whether you roster or not
A A$30 monthly minimum applies regardless of activity. A quiet season, a closed site or a slow month still bills through the minimum, so the charge does not track how much the business is actually using the tool.
A year of Deputy
What a year on Deputy actually costs
On the public figures, a one-cafe team of 20 staff on Core runs to about A$2,100 a year. A three-site business with 60 staff on Pro runs to about A$9,400 a year. A 150-staff hospitality group runs past A$20,000 a year once Payroll and HR add-ons and the per-person Pro rate are added in. The total scales with headcount and tier, not with how much rostering work actually happens.
Underneath the bill
What you are really paying for
Screens over your own records
The rosters and timesheets are your business's record, six years of it under the law. What you pay for monthly is the dashboard and the app sitting over that record, built to answer the questions the vendor decided to chart, not the ones you actually ask.
Features held back for higher plans
The rule, report or forecast you need is often one tier up from the one you are paying for. Getting it means moving every person on the roster to a higher per-person price, whether or not they need the rest of that tier.
A rent that never stops
The A$30 monthly minimum and the per-person pricing keep billing through quiet weeks, closed sites and slow seasons. Add Payroll at A$5 and HR at A$3.50 per person and the rent for access to your own roster keeps climbing regardless of use.
The owned alternative
An owned alternative to per-person rent
Enterprise DNA builds your own version of Rostering for Claude Code around how your business actually rosters, brings your Deputy data across, and runs it for you. There is one setup fee, then a monthly retainer, with no per-person pricing and no tier to outgrow. An owner who wants to run it themselves can start with the free version instead, at no cost.

Questions
Deputy pricing, answered
Why does Deputy's bill grow every time I hire someone? expand_more
Deputy prices Lite, Core and Pro per person per month, so every extra casual or part-timer added to cover a shift adds another line to the monthly total. The bill is built on headcount, so hiring for a busy season raises the cost automatically, whether or not those staff use every feature you pay for.
What does the A$30 monthly minimum actually cover? expand_more
It is a floor on the bill, not an amount tied to rostering activity. It applies even in a quiet month, a closed site or a season with fewer hours worked, so a business paying under the minimum still gets charged A$30 regardless of how much the tool was used that month.
Can I skip Deputy's Payroll and HR add-ons and still keep costs down? expand_more
You can decline the add-ons, but Payroll still adds A$5 and HR A$3.50 per person per month on top of your plan if you take them. Skipping them keeps the bill to the base per-person tier, but you then need another system for the functions those add-ons cover.
