Instead of inspHire
Stop renting inspHire. Own your hire and rental system.
Enterprise DNA builds your hire system around the way your depot quotes, dispatches and services gear, brings your inspHire records across from its exports, and runs it for you month to month.
inspHire publishes one price: OnRent Core at A$489 a month plus GST with two users, billed annually upfront (A$5,868 a year) on a 12 month minimum term. Premier, Enterprise, inspHire Office and inspHire Corporate are quoted privately.

What the subscription buys
An inspHire bill is a contract, a tier and a product list
Your fleet and your hire history belong to you. What inspHire charges for is the software around them, sold by the year, in tiers, with the larger editions and the extra products priced only after a sales call.
Twelve months paid before you start
OnRent Core is billed annually upfront with a 12 month minimum term. A quiet season or a change of plan does not shorten the year you already paid for.
Two people on the entry plan
Core includes two users. More can be added in system setup, but the price of each extra user is not on the pricing page.
The bigger tiers hide their price
Premier and Enterprise are Talk to Sales, and so are inspHire Office and inspHire Corporate. A growing depot finds out its next bill in a meeting.
Separate products for the field and the office
inspHire Mobile and inspHire CRM are listed as their own products beside the core hire systems.
Products that keep changing names
inspHire has sold OnRent, inspHire Office and inspHire Corporate side by side, and the site now says inspHire has rebranded to Klipboard. Your records sit inside whichever name comes next.
Your answers come out a report at a time
Getting data out means picking a report, filtering it and downloading the file, or building a custom view first. A question no report covers waits for someone to build one.
What you get instead
Your depot, answered in plain words
Bookings
Say yes on the phone with confidence
Ask what can go out for a date and range, and get each machine with its day and week rate, the next job promised against it, and any unit in the yard held back with the reason why.
- check Machines free by category, with the next booking against each
- check Held units named: lapsed tag, overdue service, lapsed inspection
- check A booking is refused for gear already committed or a customer on stop
- check No tier decides who at the counter may ask
Returns
The money still running on site
Every contract past its expected end date is listed with the days over and what each line has earned since, so the call to the customer happens the same morning.
- check Late contracts by customer and site with the accrued charge
- check Off-hired gear still waiting on a truck, flagged until collected
- check Contracts finished but not yet invoiced, so nothing slips
- check Customers who habitually keep gear late, with what those days added up to
Safety
Service and certificates checked against the rules
Each machine carries its service interval, test tag and periodic inspection dates, and a compliance check runs six rules, each with its source, over your records.
- check Electrical gear on the AS/NZS 3760 test and tag cycle
- check Elevating work platforms on 6-monthly inspections, cranes annually
- check Gear on a customer site right now with lapsed paperwork, listed first
- check Long hires flagged for PPSR registration before they reach a year
Ownership
Records you keep whatever the vendor calls itself
Plain records in a database you own, under an open licence. No renewal date, no rebrand, no tier change can lock you out of your own fleet history.
- check Ask any question of your data, not only the ones a report was built for
- check Hire agreements, invoices and job cards with your logo and colours
- check Read-only dashboards of the yard and the money, printable
- check New fields and rules added by describing them

Switching
How to switch from inspHire
In practice, the move involves exporting and mapping your records, checking a test import, then comparing bookings and invoices while both systems run.
- 1
Export the records
Start with your customer, fleet and contract records. In OnRent, you can export any report as a CSV file or Excel spreadsheet using its export icon, and export custom views as reports. For other inspHire products, export what your account allows and check with inspHire if you are unsure. Choose which history you need to bring across.
- 2
Run a test import
The importer accepts CSV records, but inspHire's columns need mapping to the fields the new system expects. Have those columns mapped before loading the records. The import offers a test run that shows what it would create before anything is saved. Use it first, and check that customers, fleet and contracts are being matched to the right fields.
- 3
Check the import findings
Review what the test import says it would create and look for records or fields that need attention. Certificates, meters and open damage do not import, so do not treat old system values as verified. Walk the yard with the machine stickers in front of you to check certificates and meters, and record any open damage you still need to resolve.
- 4
Run both systems together
Keep inspHire running while you start using the new system for a short period. Compare bookings and invoices between the two, and check that the records and day to day work agree. Use any differences you find to correct the mapping or records before you rely on the new system alone. Avoid switching off inspHire until those checks are complete.
- 5
Switch off inspHire
Once you have checked the records and confirmed that bookings and invoices agree, move your team onto the new system and stop using inspHire. If you use OnRent, plan the change in the last months of your paid term. Its annual upfront billing and 12 month minimum term mean you can let the term lapse at renewal rather than sign for another year.
Where the real effort goes
The real work is usually matching your own fields and business rules to the new records, then deciding how much history to bring across. Some records, including certificates, meters and open damage, need separate attention rather than a direct import. If Enterprise DNA installs and runs your version, they do the field mapping as part of the setup.

Questions
Instead of inspHire, answered
We are part way through an inspHire contract. When does a move make sense? expand_more
OnRent is billed a year upfront on a 12 month minimum term, so the paid year is spent either way. Plan the switch for the last months of the term: set up your own version, run both side by side, check bookings and invoices agree, and let the contract lapse at renewal instead of signing another year.
How do my records get out of inspHire? expand_more
OnRent lets you download any report as a CSV file or Excel spreadsheet with the export icon, and custom views can be exported the same way. Those files have inspHire's own columns, and the free version's importer was written for another hire system's format, so the columns need mapping first. Enterprise DNA does that mapping as part of the setup, and a test import shows what it would create before anything is saved.
Our yard staff sign off deliveries and services on a phone. What happens to that? expand_more
The free version prints the runsheet and the desk records the return; it has no phone app. When Enterprise DNA builds your version, a field app for sign-off and photos can be added, and it is yours, not a separate product on another invoice.
We use inspHire with Xero or MYOB. Does that still work? expand_more
The free version drafts invoices from the contracts and a person sends them, and your accounting system keeps the books. Enterprise DNA connects your version to your accounting system so drafted invoices land where you already reconcile.
Is this only for small hire businesses? expand_more
No. Enterprise DNA builds the structure your business needs into your own version, so growth is a change you ask for, not a sales call about the next tier.
Your fleet history should outlast your software contract
30 minutes with Sam. We go through your inspHire edition, your renewal date and what your counter, yard and workshop really use, and sketch your own version. If it fits, we build it and move your records before renewal. If it does not, the free version is yours to keep.
