Instead of Jiwa
Stop licensing Jiwa by the head. Own your distribution system.
Enterprise DNA builds your version around how your team takes orders, picks, buys and bills, brings your Jiwa debtors, products and stock across, and keeps it running. No per-user licence, and no module price list.
A Jiwa partner lists the cloud hosted subscription at A$201.75 per user per month ex GST, with Landed Cost, Job Costing, Manufacturing and Servicing at A$90.75 a module a month, or an outright licence at A$2,900 per user then A$484 per user each year.

What the invoice is made of
A Jiwa bill is a head count, a module list and a setup project
Jiwa does not publish prices itself; you buy through a solution partner. One partner lists the cloud hosted subscription at A$201.75 per user per month ex GST, which is A$2,421 a year for each person who logs in. The records underneath are products, debtors, suppliers, orders and stock moves.
A licence for every person who logs in
At A$201.75 per user per month hosted, the storeman checking a bin location costs the same as the accountant closing the month. Hire a second picker for the busy season and the subscription rises with them.
Modules priced one at a time
Landed Cost, Servicing, Job Costing and Manufacturing are A$90.75 each per month on the partner's list. Importers who need true landed cost on a container pay for it as an extra.
A monthly fee to talk to your web store
The Shopify and WooCommerce connection is listed at A$275 a month on its own, on top of the users and the modules.
Own the licence, still pay every year
The outright option is A$2,900 per user in the first year, then A$484 per user every year after, and you supply the servers it runs on, in the office or in the cloud.
A setup project before the first order
The partner's standard Zero Touch implementation is A$4,950 per company ex GST. A setup built around your own processes is quoted separately.
The price depends on who sells it to you
Jiwa sells through its partners, so the figures here are one partner's published list. Another reseller may quote you something else, and you only find out by asking.
What you get instead
Stock, orders and customer prices in one record you own
No licence count
Add a person and the software bill stays put
Sales, the floor, purchasing and accounts all work from the same records. A bigger team shows up in more orders shipped, not a bigger subscription.
- check No charge per user, per module or per integration
- check Seasonal staff start on Monday without a licence to buy and cancel later
- check Everyone asks in plain English, from the trade counter to the owner
- check Landed cost, a new warehouse or a new report is a change you describe, not a module you buy
The floor
Every unit on the shelf has a reason it is there
Stock on hand is built from receipts, dispatches and counts, each one recorded with why it happened.
- check Ask what is on hand, committed and free to sell in each warehouse and get one answer
- check Stock adjustments are refused unless someone writes down the reason
- check A reorder list that weighs what is committed, what is due in and how long each supplier takes
- check Slow stock named in dollars: held for 90 days with no sales and nothing committed
Orders and billing
Short shipments said out loud, billing that matches the truck
When an order cannot be filled, the gap is recorded with the purchase order that covers it, or a warning that nothing does.
- check Each customer's price level is applied when the order is entered, and the line shows which price was used
- check Back orders split into ones with stock on the way and ones with nothing ordered at all
- check Invoices are drafted only for goods that left the building, with GST shown separately
- check A sale below cost is flagged by customer and product before it becomes a habit
Your data
Records that outlive any software contract
Your products, customers, suppliers and stock history sit in a database you control, readable by any tool you pick.
- check Bring your Jiwa debtors, products and stock on hand across, checked as they land
- check Your logo and GST number on invoices, picking slips, purchase orders and customer price lists
- check Checks for signed terms of trade and PPSR registration on every credit account
- check Open source under the MIT licence, so there is no vendor to leave

Switching
How to switch from Jiwa
A move involves exporting your records, mapping Jiwa’s fields to the new layout, checking the results and deciding which history to bring across.
- 1
Get your records out
Jiwa’s release notes describe exporting debtor records to CSV. For products, stock, suppliers and open orders, ask your Jiwa partner what a full export of your company includes, and check with Jiwa how to get it. Keep a copy of the source records so you can compare them with the imported data.
- 2
Load a test run
The importer reads CSV, but Jiwa’s layout differs from the layout it reads out of the box. Start with a test run before loading records for real. Bring across suppliers, customers, products and stock on hand. Open orders, customer price deals and sales history do not import, so plan to re-enter open orders and price deals separately.
- 3
Review what it flags
Check the test results before committing to the import. Review which fields mapped, which did not, and whether the records and stock figures look right against your Jiwa exports. Pay particular attention to product costs, sell prices and stock on hand. Fix the field mapping or source data, then run the import again if needed. Do not treat a completed import as proof that every record is correct.
- 4
Run both side by side
Keep Jiwa available while you check the new system against your day-to-day records. Compare key product, customer and stock information, and re-enter the open orders and customer price deals you still need. Count stock during cutover and record it as stocktake movements, so the new ledger starts from an explained position. Resolve mismatches before you rely on the new records.
- 5
Switch off Jiwa
Once you have checked the imported records, entered the open orders and price deals you need, and confirmed the stock position, choose a clear point to stop entering day-to-day work in Jiwa. Keep the Jiwa records available for reference according to your own business needs. The free version does not replace Jiwa’s general ledger, so keep using an accounting system for your books.
Where the real effort goes
The real work is usually mapping Jiwa’s fields to the new layout, checking the records, and deciding how much history to bring across. Open orders and customer price deals need separate attention because they do not import, and sales history is deliberately left behind. When Enterprise DNA runs the setup for you, it does the field mapping and import work with you.

Questions
Instead of Jiwa, answered
Jiwa is our accounts as well. Does this replace the general ledger? expand_more
No, and it does not pretend to. Jiwa bundles a general ledger with the stock and orders. The free version runs the stock, the orders, the buying and the billing, and hands the invoices to an accounting system such as Xero, which keeps the books.
How do we get our records out of Jiwa? expand_more
Jiwa's own release notes describe exporting debtors to a CSV file. For products, stock, suppliers and open orders, ask your Jiwa partner what a full export of your company includes before you give notice. The free version reads a different layout out of the box, so mapping the Jiwa columns is part of the work when we build your version.
We only have four users. Is it worth moving? expand_more
Possibly not on the licence alone. The stronger reasons are the modules and connections you add over time, and owning the record outright. On the call we work through what you actually pay your partner each year, and if staying on Jiwa makes more sense, we will say so.
We use landed cost on every container. Can it do that? expand_more
The free version records a cost on each product and tracks margin from it. Spreading freight, duty and fees across a shipment the way your importer does is a rule Enterprise DNA writes into your version, not a module you pay for each month.
Does our team need to learn anything technical? expand_more
No. They ask the way they would ask a colleague: what is short for tomorrow's run, which orders have nothing on the way, what shipped and has not been billed. The answers come back as short lists, and Enterprise DNA does the setup.
Keep the warehouse, drop the licence count
30 minutes with Sam. We go through what Jiwa costs you each year in users, modules and partner fees, what your team relies on, and what your own version would look like. If it fits, we build it and bring your records across. If it does not, the free version is yours to run.
