Enterprise DNA

Instead of Ordermentum

Outgrow Ordermentum. Own your wholesale ordering system.

Enterprise DNA builds your version around how your venues order and how your reps and drivers work, brings your Ordermentum customers and order history across, and runs it for you. The customer list stays yours, whatever size it grows to.

Ordermentum's supplier plans start at $200 a month for up to 150 customers with a $399 setup fee, and reach $1,050 a month for up to 700 customers with a $2,000 setup fee. It calls these approximate: the real charge depends on usage, revenue, active customers and order count.

Where the money goes

An Ordermentum invoice is a tax on your own growth

Underneath, a wholesale supplier's records are short: venues, what each pays, what they order on which day, what was delivered and what was credited. Those are yours. The plan price is set by how many of them you have.

trending_up

A price that climbs with your customer count

Pass 150 customers and the Small plan's $200 a month becomes the Medium plan's $1,050. Winning the 151st cafe costs you a new tier.

paid

Charges tied to your turnover

Ordermentum says its listed prices are approximate. What you actually pay moves with usage, monthly revenue, active customers and the number of orders, so a strong month is a dearer month.

build

A setup fee on every plan

$399 to be set up remotely on Small, $2,000 for a day of in-person setup on Medium, and a custom figure above 700 customers.

Add-ons for the reporting

Insights and the growth tools are add-ons that cost extra on every supplier plan. Knowing which venues are drifting away is sold separately.

A venue marketplace alongside your own book

Venues browse over a thousand suppliers in the same app. Your regulars place their order a tap away from your competitors' catalogues.

What you get instead

A supplier's order book that answers questions

Venues

Every venue, its price and its habits

Each cafe, restaurant or hotel carries the price list it buys on, its rep, its usual order and the last time it ordered.

  • check Venues that have gone quiet, flagged on the attention list
  • check Which venues stopped taking a line that venues like them still order
  • check Every venue on its own price list, so orders come out at its price
  • check No charge for adding the next venue, or the next five hundred

Reps

The people who still visit, on a cycle you can see

Ordering online does not win new accounts or save slipping ones. Every venue sits on its own visit cycle, so the calls that matter get made.

  • check Who is due a visit, who is late, and what each late venue is worth
  • check Visit notes and orders stored against the venue, not in a rep's phone
  • check Calls, strike rate and average order per rep, against target
  • check A weekly report per rep, written from the records

Orders

Orders at the right price, into your accounts

An order comes out at the price that venue pays, whoever takes it, and goes to your accounting system in one step.

  • check Orders in cases at the venue's own price list, with any running promotion on the line
  • check One step sends every submitted order out for Xero, MYOB or your ERP and marks the batch done
  • check Orders that never reached the accounts stay on the attention list until someone clears them
  • check Credits wait for sign-off, with batch codes kept on tracked lines for a recall

Yours

Records you own and can change by asking

The venue list and every order sit in plain records, readable by any tool, with nothing billed per customer.

  • check Add a field, a rule or a report by describing it in plain English
  • check Order confirmations and rep weekly reports print with your business name and logo
  • check Open source under the MIT licence, so there is no vendor to leave
  • check Your Ordermentum customers and orders brought across and checked on the way in

Switching

How to switch from Ordermentum

There is no published step by step export from Ordermentum, so the move takes as long as it takes to pull your records out, map them onto the new system and run both side by side until the numbers agree.

  1. 1

Get your records out of Ordermentum

Ordermentum does not publish a step by step export guide. Pull your customer list and order history through whatever the account allows, usually its reports, its API, or the accounting system it has been syncing to (Xero, MYOB or your ERP). Check with Ordermentum support on the exact format if you are not sure, and export as CSV or Excel if that is offered.

  2. 2

Load them in with a test run

Bring the files into the new system, and do a test run first. It shows you what it would create before it changes anything, so you can see your customers, price terms and order history laid out before committing. Only run it for real once that test run looks right.

  3. 3

    Check what the import flagged

Ordermentum's files use Ordermentum's own columns, so some things will not map cleanly on the first pass, things like price tiers, custom statuses or contact roles. Go through what the import flagged as unmatched or uncertain and decide, line by line, where each one belongs in the new system.

  4. 4

Run both systems side by side

Ordermentum has no lock-in contract, so there is nothing stopping you running the new system alongside it for a few weeks. Write orders and log calls in both, and compare the numbers, customer counts, order totals, credits, until they match closely enough that you trust the new records.

  5. 5

    Switch off Ordermentum

Once the side by side numbers line up and your team is comfortable working from the new system, cancel Ordermentum. There is no contract to get out of, so this is just a decision and a cancellation, not a negotiation.

construction

Where the real effort goes

The real work is not moving the data, it is deciding how your own price terms, statuses and rep territories should look in the new system, and how much order history is worth bringing across rather than starting clean. Ordermentum's export columns will not match yours, so someone has to make those calls. Enterprise DNA does this mapping and the test run as part of installing and running it for you.

Questions

Instead of Ordermentum, answered

My venues like ordering on their phones at night. Do they lose that? expand_more

Not if you want to keep it. The free version has no ordering app for venues: it is the order book behind one. Enterprise DNA can build a simple ordering page onto your version, on your name, so venues order from you and not from a marketplace of your competitors.

Ordermentum processes our payments and retries failed ones. What replaces that? expand_more

The free version does not process payments. Most suppliers already invoice from Xero or MYOB, and those have their own payment links and reminders. If you want payments taken at the moment of ordering, Enterprise DNA can connect a payment provider as part of your build.

How do we get our customers and order history out? expand_more

Ordermentum does not publish a step by step export guide. Your records come out through its reports, its API, or the accounting system it has been syncing to. Those files have Ordermentum's own columns, so they need mapping: Enterprise DNA does that as part of the move, or you ask Claude Code to map them for you. Do a test run first and it shows what it would create before anything changes.

We are on the Small plan at $200 a month. Is this worth it for us? expand_more

Maybe not yet. That is $2,400 a year before the extras, and the free version costs nothing to run yourself. The case gets stronger as you grow: on the Medium plan the same book costs $12,600 a year, and it keeps rising with turnover and order count. Talk to Sam and we will look at your real invoices, not a guess.

Is there a contract to get out of? expand_more

Ordermentum says it has no lock-in contracts, so you can run both side by side for a few weeks and cancel once the numbers match. Your version has no contract with a vendor at all: the records are in a database you own.

Stop paying more every time a cafe says yes

30 minutes with Sam. We look at what Ordermentum charges you now, what it will charge at your next tier, and what your own version would look like. If it is a fit, we build it and run it. If it is not, take the free version and run it yourself.
