Enterprise DNA

Instead of Wiise

Stop renting Wiise Premium. Own the system that runs your workshop.

Enterprise DNA builds your version around how you quote, route and cost jobs, brings your Wiise customers, suppliers and items across, and keeps it running. Your accounting system stays where it is.

Wiise Premium, the plan with manufacturing, is A$210 (NZ$230) per full user a month ex GST. Team members are A$23.50 (NZ$27.50) each and shop floor devices A$84 (NZ$93) each, every month.

Where the Wiise money goes

A per-user ERP licence, with the workshop features on the dearer plan

Each estimator, planner or owner with full access is A$210 a month on Premium, which is A$2,520 a year for one person before team members, devices or a partner's time. Under it sit ordinary records: customers, items, routings, production orders and hours.

workspace_premium

Manufacturing only on Premium

Business at A$158 (NZ$175) a full user includes job costing but has no bills of materials for production, no routings, no production orders and no work centres. Those start on Premium.

groups

A fee for each person who logs in

Full users pay the plan price. Staff who only need to look things up or record time are team members at A$23.50 (NZ$27.50) a month each.

tablet

Shop floor screens licensed separately

A shared device on the floor is its own licence at A$84 (NZ$93) a month, so a terminal at the saw or the press brake carries a monthly charge.

engineering

A partner project to go live

Wiise recommends an implementation partner and describes the process as spanning 6 to 9 months. The partner's fee is not on the pricing page.

extension

Add-ons with no public price

Payroll, extra environments, extra database capacity, multi-entity management and Power Platform licences each say view pricing rather than show a figure.

account_tree

A whole ERP for a workshop's questions

The questions a shop owner asks are simple: what is late, what is short, what is losing money. A full ERP answers them through menus, roles and setup that someone has to maintain.

What you get instead

The workshop half of an ERP, with nothing held back for a higher plan

Production

Jobs and routings you can ask about

Each job carries its promised date and what it has cost so far, so the morning meeting starts from facts.

  • check Jobs behind their promised date, with the number of days behind
  • check Fixed-price jobs flagged once cost passes 80% of the quote
  • check Jobs where nothing has been booked or issued for a week
  • check Work centres due a service, with the rule it is checked against

Costing

Job costing that does not wait for month end

Materials issued, hours at the rate on the day and outwork received add up to one cost per job that every report reads the same way.

  • check Work in progress on any day, not just after a close
  • check Margin per job and per customer, to price the next quote properly
  • check Finished jobs nobody has invoiced, listed until they are
  • check Progress claims and retentions tracked for construction work

Materials

Shortages before they stop a job

What each job needs is checked against stock and open purchase orders, measured against the date the customer was promised.

  • check Each job's missing material, and the order that covers it
  • check Stock under its reorder level, beside the usual supplier
  • check Late purchase orders, with the jobs they hold up
  • check Heat numbers recorded when steel goes to a structural job

Ownership

A system you change by describing it

Your records sit in a database you control, and a new field, check or document is a sentence away rather than a partner's quote.

  • check Customers, suppliers and items brought over from Wiise, test run first
  • check Quotes, job sheets, invoices and cost reports in your own branding
  • check No charge per user, per team member or per floor device
  • check Free and open source, with no minimum term to sit out

Switching

How to switch from Wiise

In practice, the move involves exporting and mapping your records, checking open jobs and stock, then proving the new system beside Wiise before cutover.

  1. 1

    Export the records you need

Wiise is built on Business Central, where you can open lists such as customers, vendors and items in Excel and save them. Export those records, plus any job and stock records your account allows, usually as CSV or Excel. Wiise’s exact export route may depend on your setup, so confirm it with Wiise. Plan to check open jobs and stock by hand as well.

  2. 2

    Load the records

Load the records the import supports through its CSV import path. If Wiise gives you Excel files, check with Wiise how to prepare them for that import. Start with the test run, which lets you see how records map before you load them. Do not make the live database your first attempt. Keep the original exports so you can compare them during review.

  3. 3

    Review gaps and verify records

Review the test result for records and fields that did not map, then correct the mapping before loading. Do not assume the import verifies workshop history. The documented import does not bring across heat numbers, work centre service records or open job costing. Check open jobs and stock against Wiise by hand, and record what still needs confirming before the new system becomes the working record.

  4. 4

    Run both side by side

Keep Wiise and Job Shop running side by side for a short period. Use that time to compare the jobs, stock and costs you rely on, and enter new workshop activity consistently so you can spot differences. Use any remaining time in Wiise’s agreed minimum term to check the new records and process before the cutover date.

  5. 5

Stop using Wiise for workshop work

After cutover, stop entering workshop records in Wiise. Cancel Wiise only if you no longer rely on it for accounting or other functions, because Job Shop replaces the workshop side, not the general ledger or payroll. Wiise says there is no cancellation fee, but you must pay the agreed minimum term. Set the end date around that commitment.

construction

Where the real effort goes

The main work is mapping your own fields and rules, then deciding how much history to bring across. Open jobs and stock need a hand check, and some workshop history is not brought across by the documented import. If you have Enterprise DNA install and run it, they handle the field mapping and import setup with you.

Questions

Instead of Wiise, answered

Wiise is our accounting system too. Does this replace all of it? expand_more

No. This replaces the workshop side: quotes, jobs, hours, stock, purchase orders and job costing. Your general ledger, bank feeds, BAS or GST returns and payroll need an accounting system, and many shops already run Xero or MYOB for that. Enterprise DNA builds the link so drafted invoices flow into it.

Is it worth it if we are only on the Business plan? expand_more

If Business already does what you need, the case is weaker. It fits best when you are paying Premium for production orders and routings, or putting off Premium because the per-user price is too much for a small workshop.

How do we get our records out of Wiise? expand_more

Wiise runs on Microsoft Business Central, which lets you open lists such as customers, vendors and items in Excel and save them. Those files carry their own columns, so mapping them is part of what Enterprise DNA does, or you ask Claude Code to map them and do a test run first. Open jobs and stock are best checked by hand once.

Our minimum term has not finished. Should we wait? expand_more

Wiise says there is no cancellation fee but the agreed minimum term must be paid. Use the remaining months to run both side by side, so the switch happens on the day the term ends with the new system already proven.

Can the people on the floor use it without a device licence? expand_more

Yes. Hours and material issues go in as one typed line, from any computer pointed at your database, with no charge per device.
