The play

Rewrite your system prompts for Opus 5 generation models, Anthropic's new doctrine is tool design and on-demand context over front-loaded instructions.

Anthropic just published why it slashed the system prompt for Claude Code by roughly 80 percent when it moved to the Opus 5 and Fable 5 models. The short version: they stopped stuffing instructions and examples into the prompt and started building better tools and loading context only when the model needs it.

The old approach was front-loading. You gave the model a long list of instructions, edge cases, and examples up front, hoping it would remember everything when the time came. The new doctrine flips that. Instead of pre-loading Claude with pages of “here’s how to handle X, Y, and Z,” Anthropic designed cleaner tool interfaces and feeds relevant context on demand. The model asks for what it needs, gets it, and moves on. Less noise, tighter loops, fewer tokens burned on instructions that may never apply to the task at hand.

Why this matters if you run a company

If you’re building or buying AI workflows, this is a signal. The industry is moving away from brittle, bloated prompts toward systems that pull context dynamically and rely on better tooling. That means your internal workflows should do the same. Stop writing thousand-word instructions for every edge case. Start thinking about how your AI agent surfaces the right data at the right moment, how it connects to your tools, and how it asks clarifying questions instead of guessing.

This is exactly the kind of shift we build into the Omni Command Centre: context that adapts to the task, tools that plug in cleanly, and prompts that stay lean because the system does the heavy lifting. If your current setup still relies on massive static prompts, you’re carrying technical debt. Anthropic’s move, detailed in the discussion on Hacker News, shows where the puck is going. Lighter prompts, smarter context, better tools. That’s the stack that scales.
