The play

Agent payment infrastructure is maturing fast, start mapping which Omni workflows could benefit from agents executing paid actions autonomously within 12 months.

A startup called Natural just closed a $30M Series A, bringing its total funding to $40M, to build what it calls payment infrastructure for AI agents. The pitch is simple: agents that can hold money in FDIC-insured wallets and execute transactions without waiting for a human to approve every step. Think Stripe, but for software that acts on its own.

Right now, most AI tools recommend actions. They draft the email, suggest the vendor, flag the invoice. A person still clicks “send” or “pay”. Natural is betting that within a year or two, businesses will want agents that can actually complete those actions, which means those agents need a way to hold funds, verify identity, and move money in a compliant way. TechCrunch reported the round eight days ago, and the company is already shipping live wallets.

For most operators, this is not something you need today. But it is a horizon signal. If you are building or using agents that handle procurement, vendor payments, or subscription management, the next version of those tools will likely need infrastructure like this. The question is whether you trust an agent to spend money without you in the loop, and under what conditions.

We are not integrating agent wallets into the Omni Command Centre yet, but we are tracking this closely. When ops agents move from “recommend a supplier” to “pay the supplier and confirm delivery”, the rails Natural is building become relevant. For now, the takeaway is that the companies raising serious money are not just improving chatbots. They are building the plumbing for agents that act, not just advise.
