Claude reportedly hit a second consecutive day of service disruption

The play

Claude's back-to-back outages during a security disclosure week raise reliability risk, have a fallback provider configured if Claude is your primary.

Claude went down for the second day running, according to Anthropic’s status page and chatter on Hacker News. The company hasn’t said much about what caused it or how many users were affected, but the timing matters. This is the same week Anthropic disclosed a cyber incident, so people are asking harder questions about reliability.

If you’re running Claude in production, two consecutive outages is a red flag. It doesn’t matter whether the root cause is infrastructure, attack surface, or something else. What matters is whether your workflow grinds to a halt when one model goes offline. A lot of teams built around Claude because it’s good at long context and nuanced tasks, but they didn’t plan for downtime. That’s a single point of failure.

The fix isn’t to abandon Claude. It’s to build redundancy into your stack. Route requests to a backup model when your primary one is unavailable. Log which model handled each task so you can audit quality and cost. Set thresholds that trigger an alert before your team notices the problem in Slack. This is exactly the kind of resilience we build into an AI command centre, where uptime and fallback logic sit alongside your prompt library and usage tracking.

The broader lesson is that frontier labs are still labs. They move fast, they push boundaries, and sometimes things break. If AI is critical to your operations, you need monitoring, failover, and a plan that doesn’t assume 100% uptime from any single provider. Two days of disruption in one week is unusual, but it won’t be the last time a major model has a bad stretch. Plan accordingly.
