The play

Encore's 5x growth came from turning customer interaction data into agent playbooks, the same moat you can build if you own your call and email logs.

Encore AI just closed a $30 million Series A after growing annual recurring revenue five times over in less than 18 months. The company takes your existing call recordings, emails, and text threads, then uses them to train voice agents that mimic how your best salespeople or support reps actually work. More than 40 enterprise customers, mostly banks and financial firms, are already using it. Several of the investors writing checks were customers first, which tells you something about whether the product works.

The interesting part is not the funding round. It’s the model. Encore does not hand you a generic chatbot trained on the internet. It learns from the conversations your team already has, spots the patterns that close deals or solve problems, and bakes those into an agent. That creates a data moat. The more calls you run through it, the better it gets at sounding like your company, not like every other company using the same off-the-shelf tool.

This is the same shape of advantage we talk about when we build an Omni Command Centre for a client. The value is not in the AI itself. It’s in teaching the system how your business actually runs, what language your customers use, which workflows matter. A flywheel that gets smarter as you use it beats a static tool every time.

If you’re in a business where conversations drive revenue or retention, and you’re not mining that data yet, someone else in your market probably will. Encore’s traction, according to TechCrunch, shows that enterprises will pay real money for agents that sound like their own people, not like a help desk in a different industry. The question is whether you want to own that advantage or rent it from a vendor who also sells to your competitors.
