Each job should carry the essentials: customer, job number, service type, technician assignment, scheduled window, and the cost code or job class needed for reporting. Where to start if your timesheets are still manual

Don’t begin with a full system replacement. Start with one payroll cycle and map what actually happens.

Ask your payroll administrator to save the questions they need answered that week. Ask your technicians where they lose time entering hours. Ask the service manager which jobs are hardest to cost accurately. Then look at the last four weeks of overtime approvals and identify how many required a real management decision versus a basic data fix.
