Instead of AuditBoard

Stop renting AuditBoard. Own your internal audit system.

We build your version around how your team plans audits, reviews evidence and follows up findings. We map your AuditBoard exports, bring the agreed records across and run it for you.

AuditBoard is now Optro. Subscription pricing is quoted for your business, with unlimited stakeholder licenses advertised on its pricing page.

What the subscription covers

You pay for the audit workspace around your records

Optro offers plans matched to business needs. These are parts of its audit workspace, not six separate charges. Ask for a written quote covering the scope you use.

event_note

The annual audit plan

Audit planning and coverage sit inside the subscription. Keep engagements, owners, risk and dates together in your own version.

fact_check

Testing and workpapers

The vendor supports testing workflows. Your version keeps the procedure, evidence, conclusion and reviewer with each workpaper.

inbox

Evidence requests

Optro manages evidence requests and follow-ups. Your version shows who owes what, when it was due and whether it arrived.

task_alt

Finding remediation

Issue reporting and remediation tracking are part of the platform. Keep action ownership and verification in your own records.

groups

Stakeholder participation

The vendor advertises unlimited stakeholder licenses. Compare your actual quote rather than assuming every person adds a seat fee.

analytics

Reporting and implementation

Optro offers dashboards and implementation services. Enterprise DNA agrees the migration, reporting and operation of your own version with you.

Your working week

Evidence, review and follow-up on your terms

Plan

Start with the work that needs attention

A weekly view brings the audit plan and outstanding work into one review.

  • check Rank engagements by recorded risk
  • check See unreviewed workpapers beside each engagement
  • check Find outstanding evidence requests
  • check Spot engagements untouched for thirty days

Evidence

Keep testing separate from approval

Record what was tested, what the evidence showed and who reviewed it.

  • check Keep criteria and procedures with the test
  • check Record evidence references and conclusions
  • check Require a reviewer other than the preparer
  • check Clear the old review when a test is changed

Follow-up

A completed action still needs verification

Management records implementation. An independent reviewer records verification.

  • check Preserve the original agreed due date
  • check Capture explanations for overdue actions
  • check Find high-risk findings still awaiting action
  • check Compare unresolved workload by action owner

Reporting

Produce the review documents from your records

Prepare private drafts in your own business name, then inspect them before issue.

  • check Draft the engagement report with evidence and findings
  • check Prepare management action follow-up letters
  • check Flag missing scope and review evidence
  • check Back up the records and their local change history

Switching

How to switch from AuditBoard

A move involves exporting your findings, testing and reconciling the import, then running both systems side by side briefly before you switch.

  1. 1

    Export your findings

Export a findings CSV from an AuditBoard Analytics result. This is the input the import supports, not a universal AuditBoard backup. Export what your account allows, usually CSV or Excel, and check with AuditBoard about the available options. List any evidence files, past approvals, permissions and other history you need, since these require separate migration.

  2. 2

    Test the import

On a fresh database, create the matching engagement, then test the findings import without saving records. If your export has custom column headings, map them to the expected fields. The test run lets you check the import before bringing records into use. Keep this test separate from your live audit records.

  3. 3

    Review import issues

Check everything the test import flags before proceeding. Look for malformed rows, headings that need mapping and changed records that need reconciliation. Identical imports are skipped, and changed records require explicit reconciliation. Imported Closed statuses remain snapshots from AuditBoard, not approvals in the new system. Resolve the issues and confirm which records should transfer.

  4. 4

    Run both systems

Keep both systems in use for a short period. Use your current AuditBoard records as the reference, and check that engagements, findings, outstanding actions and review records in the database match what your team expects. Resolve gaps before relying on the new records. Imported Closed statuses are source snapshots, not approvals in the new system.

  5. 5

    Switch off AuditBoard

When your checks are complete and your team is ready, make the database the place for new audit work and stop using AuditBoard for that workflow. Keep source exports you need under your own retention and access rules. Do not assume attachments or past approvals are in the new system unless they were migrated separately.

construction

Where the real effort goes

Most of the work is mapping your own fields and rules, then deciding how much history to bring across. The findings import does not bring across evidence files, past approvals, permissions or other records, so those need separate migration decisions. When you have Enterprise DNA run your version, Enterprise DNA handles this migration work with you.

Questions

Instead of AuditBoard, answered

Is AuditBoard still the name of the product? expand_more

The company renamed itself Optro in March 2026. This comparison is for teams using AuditBoard or Optro for internal audit engagements, evidence and management action follow-up.

How much does AuditBoard cost compared with our own version? expand_more

Optro provides a business quotation and advertises unlimited stakeholder licenses. Its pricing page does not publish a subscription amount. Bring your actual renewal quote. Enterprise DNA scopes one setup fee and an ongoing retainer around the records, connections and operating work you need.

Can you bring our existing audit history across? expand_more

We start with your actual exports and agree what transfers. The free version imports mapped findings from an Analytics export. Evidence files, past approvals, permissions and other records need separate migration. We reconcile the imported findings before you switch.

Does this replace the judgment of our internal auditors? expand_more

No. It records scope, testing, evidence, review and follow-up. Checks flag documentation gaps against selected internal audit standards. Your auditors assess evidence quality, decide conclusions and approve reports. A management implementation claim remains separate from independent verification.

What if our team needs screens, secure access or connections? expand_more

Enterprise DNA builds those into your version around your audit team and evidence storage. We agree the permissions, review process and connections before installation. The free base produces private read-only reports, and the managed version runs inside your Command Centre.
