Instead of BWARE
Your BWARE price is set behind a sales call. Own your safety system instead.
Enterprise DNA builds your version around your crews, your sites and the forms you already fill in, brings your BWARE records across, and keeps it running for you. The records sit with your business, not with a vendor.
BWARE's own site publishes no price. Each business is quoted privately after an introductory Zoom call, billed monthly plus GST on a 12-month contract that continues in further 12-month terms.

What the BWARE agreement covers
A private quote, a rolling contract and a copy of your data on request
Under the app and the templates, BWARE stores a short list of facts about your business: your people, their tickets, your hazards, your substances, your plant and what went wrong. Its own terms set out how you pay to keep them there.
A price you only hear on a call
BWARE's own site has no price list. BWARE's own page says prices vary by need, and every plan starts with a Zoom meeting where its team works out what you pay. Comparing it with anything else means sitting through that meeting first.
A 12-month contract that keeps going
The published terms set a 12-month contract period and, where no end date is written in, successive 12-month terms after it. Leaving is a date you need to plan for, not a cancel button.
A yearly increase written into the terms
From the second year BWARE may lift fees once a year in line with the Consumer Price Index, on 60 days' notice. Your choice then is to accept it or give at least 45 days' notice to end the agreement.
Your records back only if you ask in time
After the agreement ends you have one month to request a copy of your data, and you pay BWARE's reasonable costs to produce it. The terms say it comes in a common electronic form with no promise it will work in any other software.
Setup and form conversion sold as services
Turning paper forms into digital ones and moving data in from your existing systems are offered as support services, alongside admin support, workshops and extra modules.
Your usage feeding their product
The terms let BWARE build anonymised statistics from your data and how you use the system, keep the rights to them, and keep using them after you leave.
What you get instead
The same safety work, on records your business holds outright
Ownership
The records live with you from the first day
Your hazard register, incident history, training and substance inventory sit in a database your business controls. There is no export to request, no one-month window and no fee to get them back.
- check Open the full record at any time in plain form, readable by any tool you choose
- check Nothing about your business or your usage goes into a vendor's statistics
- check MIT licence: the free version stays yours to run and change, with or without us
- check Notifiable event records kept for the five years the Act requires
Each morning
One list of what needs a decision today
Instead of a monthly alert, ask what needs attention and get every open item, worst first, with the person who owns it. Harm to a person ranks ahead of paperwork.
- check A notifiable event not yet reported to WorkSafe sits at the top until the call is logged
- check Overdue corrective actions shown with their owner and the incident that raised them
- check Workers with a missing or lapsed site induction named, subcontractors included
- check A site gone quiet on toolbox talks shows up before anything happens there
Risk
Hazards checked against the hierarchy of controls
Each hazard is scored on a 5x5 and its controls are held against the hierarchy the Regulations set out. A serious risk managed by PPE alone is never quietly accepted.
- check A high or critical hazard cannot be recorded without its controls
- check Hazards that keep causing incidents shown side by side with those incidents
- check Every substance listed with the age of its safety data sheet, and the gaps flagged
- check Tickets expiring in the next 60 days listed by person, next to any incident they were in
Paperwork
Registers and reports from the record
The printable hazard register, incident summaries and the board report come straight from your data in your business's colours. Getting ready for a client audit is a question, not a project.
- check A monthly safety report for the owners, written from the record in one go
- check Compliance checks against rules that cite their sections of the Act and Regulations
- check Every number traceable back to the record behind it

Switching
How to switch from BWARE
A move involves requesting your records before you give notice, mapping BWARE's layout to the new system, checking the imported data and running both systems side by side before you switch off BWARE.
- 1
Check your agreement and request data
Find your agreement's start and end dates. BWARE's terms set 12-month contract periods, so plan to have the new system ready before your term ends. Request your data before giving notice. The terms allow you to request a copy up to one month after the agreement ends, at your cost, but it is safer to arrange it beforehand.
- 2
Export the records you need
Ask BWARE what your account allows you to export and check which records it can provide. Request the records you need to carry forward, such as worker, training, substance, equipment and incident records, along with risk registers, site plans and forms where available. BWARE's terms describe a common electronic form, but do not guarantee it will work with other software.
- 3
Map and load your records
BWARE's layout may not match the new system's import, so the records need to be mapped before they are loaded. If you use Enterprise DNA to set up and run the system, they handle this mapping. Ask for a test run first if the import path offers one, then load the records once you have checked what the test brings across.
- 4
Check the import results
Compare the imported records with your BWARE data and review anything the import flags for attention. Imported notifiable events without a regulator notified date are surfaced at the top of the attention list. Check these against your source records, along with any other gaps or mismatches, and correct them before relying on the new system.
- 5
Run both, then switch
Keep BWARE and the new system running side by side for the last few weeks of your BWARE term. Check that current records are available in the new system and that your team knows where to record new activity. When the new system is ready and your agreement allows it, end BWARE and use the new system as your working record.
Where the real effort goes
The main work is mapping BWARE's fields and records to the new system, checking what imported cleanly and deciding how much history to bring across. Your choices about older records can affect how much checking is needed. If you have Enterprise DNA set up and run the system, they handle the mapping as part of setup. If you run it yourself, you will need to do that mapping and review.

Questions
Instead of BWARE, answered
BWARE gives us a Success Specialist. Who helps us here? expand_more
Enterprise DNA sets your version up, trains your team on the handful of questions that matter and stays on call under the retainer. We build and run the system; we are not health and safety advisers, so keep your own adviser or consultant and give them one clean record to work from.
How do I get my records out of BWARE? expand_more
BWARE's terms let you request a copy of your data up to one month after the agreement ends, at your cost, in a common electronic form. Ask for it before you give notice, not after. Its layout may not match the free version's import, so mapping it across is part of what Enterprise DNA does in the setup.
When can we switch, given the 12-month contract? expand_more
Find the start date and end date in your agreement, because the contract runs in 12-month terms. Plan the move so your new system is running before the term ends, and run both side by side for the last few weeks so nothing falls between them.
BWARE writes our site-specific safety plans. Does this? expand_more
The free version holds the hazards, controls, people and tickets those plans are made from. Enterprise DNA builds your own plan and safe work plan templates into your version, so a plan for a new site comes from the records you already keep.
Will this keep us compliant? expand_more
It keeps the records the Health and Safety at Work Act and its Regulations call for and checks them against rules that name their sections. Compliance comes from how the work is run on site, and no software makes that true by itself. None of this is legal advice.
Your safety record belongs with your business
30 minutes with Sam. We go through what your BWARE agreement covers, when its term ends, which records and forms your crews depend on, and what your own version would hold. If it fits, we build it and run it. If not, take the free version and run it yourself.
