Instead of DealershipSoft

Stop paying DealershipSoft by the seat. Own your dealer system.

We fit it to the boats, tractors, bikes or caravans you actually sell and service, bring your DealershipSoft records across, and look after it for you.

DealershipSoft lists Gold at A$219 a month plus GST billed yearly (A$2,628 a year) for one site with one user, then A$20 a month for every extra user. A second site or the API means Platinum at A$299 a month billed yearly.

What the subscription covers

Fair pricing, but still rent on six kinds of record you already own

DealershipSoft is honest about its prices and lets you leave when you like. What you pay for each month is still access: to your unit list, your customers, your job cards, your parts and your invoices, through screens and reports the vendor chose.

group_add

One login included, the rest by the month

Gold includes a single user. Every salesperson, service adviser or parts counter login after that is A$20 a month, so the bill tracks headcount, not value.

storefront

A second yard means a higher plan

Gold covers one site. Moving stock between branches, group reporting and per-site reporting sit on Platinum, at A$299 a month billed yearly or A$349 month to month.

api

Reaching your data from other tools is a Platinum feature

The public API and booking API are listed under Platinum only. On Gold, your records reach other software through the integrations DealershipSoft has chosen to build.

sms

Customer messaging priced on top

Two-way SMS is A$49 a month, call forwarding a further A$99 a month, text credits are bought separately and registration or VIN lookups are charged per lookup.

insights

Questions limited to the reports provided

Which caravans have sat longest against what they cost to prep, or which tractor buyers never came back for a service: if no report answers it, you export and work it out in a spreadsheet.

lock

Your history lives in their cloud while you subscribe

DealershipSoft says you can export your data any time, which is to its credit. Here there is nothing to export first: the records already sit in your database, readable by any tool.

What you get in its place

The dealer's records, with no seat count and no plan ladder

Units

Every boat, tractor, bike or caravan, and what it is really costing

One stock list across whatever you sell, each unit with its days on hand, prep spend and the finance interest it has run up.

  • check See the interest each aged unit has already cost you, unit by unit, not a total at month end
  • check Prep and reconditioning work lands in the unit cost, so the margin on the deal is the true one
  • check A unit cannot go into stock without its reading recorded, whether that is kilometres or engine hours once we set it up for you
  • check Your aged line and floorplan rate are settings you change by asking

Deals

Deposits, trade-ins and handovers that leave a record

Each sale moves from quote to deposit to delivery, with the checks you are held to run at the moment they apply.

  • check A deposit that has sat a fortnight with no delivery is raised before the buyer goes quiet
  • check No handover without a security interest search on record, so money owed on a trade-in never becomes your problem
  • check Cash over the legal limit is refused, and every lost sale keeps the reason it was lost
  • check Offers, delivery papers and statements print with your business name and colours

Workshop and parts

Job cards that close properly and parts that earn their shelf space

Customer work and your own prep share one job list, and nothing finished slips past without notes and an invoice.

  • check Finished jobs never invoiced are named with the amount owing, before they turn into a write-off
  • check A job cannot close without notes on what was done, which is your answer if a customer comes back unhappy
  • check Parts untouched for 90 days are listed with the cash tied up in them
  • check Owners whose boat, mower or tractor has not been back for a service are listed with a phone number

Yours

As many people and sites as you like, on one database

There is no per-user charge and no plan that unlocks your own records.

  • check Open source under the MIT licence: keep it, change it, run it anywhere
  • check Add a branch, a technician or a parts person without changing what you pay us for software
  • check Your books stay with your accountant; sales, invoices and parts movements hand over to Xero or your bookkeeper in one export
  • check Any question you can put into words gets answered from your own records, not only the ones a report covers

Switching

How to switch from DealershipSoft

A move involves exporting the records your account allows, mapping them to the new database, checking the import and running both systems side by side before you switch.

  1. 1

    Export your records

DealershipSoft says you can export your data at any time. Export the customer and inventory lists, plus deals, job cards, parts, invoices and history you want to bring across if your account allows. The available export options are not specified here, so check with DealershipSoft about what you can export and in which formats. CSV or Excel may be available.

  2. 2

    Load the records

The available import path is built around customer and inventory lists. Ask the person setting up your system to map the exported columns to the new database, and to check which other records can be brought across. Run a test import first, as the import path allows, before loading the records for real. This helps surface mismatched columns and rows that will not load.

  3. 3

    Check the import results

Review what the test run flags, including rows that cannot be matched or are skipped. Check sample customers, units and other imported records against DealershipSoft, and confirm that the details your team relies on are present. Resolve mapping issues before loading the full set. Decide which older history to bring across, rather than assuming every record will transfer as is.

  4. 4

    Run both side by side

Keep DealershipSoft available while your team uses the new system for a short period. Compare records and day to day work in both systems, and note any missing information or rules that need adjusting. Use this time to confirm that the imported records and your team’s way of working are in good order before you depend on the new system alone.

  5. 5

    Switch off DealershipSoft

When your team is comfortable with the new system and you have checked the records you need, stop entering new work in DealershipSoft. Confirm that you can still access any records you chose not to bring across, then arrange to end your DealershipSoft service. Keep the old system available for reference if your business needs access to its remaining history.

construction

Where the real effort goes

The main work is usually mapping DealershipSoft’s columns to the new database, matching your own fields and rules, and deciding how much history to bring across. The available import path covers customer and inventory lists, so confirm what else can be loaded before you plan the move. If you have Enterprise DNA install and run it for you, they handle the mapping as part of that work.

Questions

Instead of DealershipSoft, answered

DealershipSoft is not expensive. Why switch? expand_more

For a single site with one login, it may not be worth it, and we will tell you that. The case grows with every extra user, a second site, the API and the messaging add-ons, and with the questions you want answered that no standard report covers. The real difference is ownership: the records sit in a database that is yours.

The free version started with car yards. Does it suit marine, farm or caravan dealers? expand_more

The records are the same: customers, units, deals, job cards, parts and invoices. What changes is the identifier on each unit, the reading you track and which checks apply. In the free version you ask Claude Code to adjust it; when Enterprise DNA builds yours, we set it up for what you actually sell.

Can we get our records out of DealershipSoft? expand_more

Its pricing page says your data is yours and can be exported any time, including on the way out. Its columns will not match what the free version expects, so mapping them is part of what we do, or you ask Claude Code to map them and do a test run first.

What about parts ordering and the technicians' clock? expand_more

The free version keeps parts stock and job cards but does not order from suppliers or clock technicians on and off. If your workshop relies on those, Enterprise DNA builds them into your version, connected to the suppliers you already buy from.

Does my team have to learn Claude Code? expand_more

No. Questions are asked in plain English. In a managed setup we agree who asks what, and add a simple screen for the counter or the workshop if that suits your people better.
