Instead of Eclipse
Stop licensing Eclipse one module at a time. Own your dealership system.
We build your version around how your yard sells vans, tractors, boats or cars and how your service bays run, bring your Eclipse records across, and run it for you.
Ultimate Business Systems does not publish an Eclipse price. Its site says pricing depends on your needs and the size of your dealership, you pay for the modules you pick, and you contact them for a personalised quote.

What the invoice covers
Modules on top of modules, all wrapped around the same handful of records
Strip away the screens and a dealer keeps a short list: who bought what, which units are on the lot, which jobs are in the bays, what sits on the parts shelf, and what has been invoiced. Eclipse sells access to that list in pieces.
A price you only get by asking
Every page ends in Book a Demo. The site says pricing depends on your needs and the size of your dealership, so you cannot weigh it up before the sales conversation.
One module per department
Stock and sales, parts, service, CRM, accounting, payroll, reporting and custom workflows are each a module. You pay for the ones you choose, and each new need is another one to add.
Your ledger living inside the dealer system
Eclipse pitches its own accounting against Xero. Once the general ledger and payroll sit in the same system as the yard, leaving the dealer software means moving your books as well.
No word on getting your data out
None of the Eclipse pages we read describe an export of customers, stock or service history. Ask before you sign, and before you renew.
A platform still moving off the desktop
Ultimate is rebuilding Eclipse for the browser, and its web parts screens were still in testing when we checked. You pay through the move while it happens.
Decades of history held in someone else's system
Dealers on Eclipse for 15 or 25 years have every sale, service visit and parts movement inside it. Here that history is ordinary records you keep, back up and read with any tool.
What you run instead
The whole dealership, as records you own and questions you ask
The yard
Each van, machine, boat or car, with its true cost to date
Every unit on the lot shows how long it has sat, what prep has gone into it, and what the finance on it has cost so far.
- check Ask which units are past your aged line and see the finance interest each one has run up
- check Prep and repair work on a unit lands in its cost, so the margin on the sale is the real margin
- check No unit goes into stock without its odometer reading recorded
- check Your aged line and finance rate change with one sentence, not a support ticket
Sales
Deposits and handovers that cannot skip a step
Quote, deposit and delivery each go through a check you can see, and every sale that falls over keeps its reason.
- check A deposit waiting too long for delivery is flagged while the buyer is still keen
- check No handover without a security interest search on file, so a lender's claim never travels with the unit
- check The free version's checks follow New Zealand dealer rules; we set yours to the rules your state or region applies
- check Lost sales keep their reason, so you see whether price, stock or finance is costing you deals
Service and parts
Bays, jobs and the parts shelf on one list
Customer jobs and your own pre-delivery work sit together, and nothing finished slips past without an invoice.
- check Completed jobs with no invoice are named with the amount owed
- check A job closes only with notes on the work done, your record if a customer disputes it
- check Parts untouched for 90 days are listed with the cash tied up in them
- check Owners whose van, tractor or boat has not been back for a service are listed with a phone number
Yours
No modules to buy and books that stay portable
One database for the yard, the bays and the counter, open source and yours to change.
- check MIT licence: keep it, change it, run it wherever you like
- check Offers, service histories and statements print under your own name and colours
- check Sales, invoices and parts movements hand over to Xero or your accountant in one export
- check A new branch or brand adds no licence fee

Switching
How to switch from Eclipse
A move usually involves getting the records Eclipse allows you to export, mapping their columns, testing the import and checking the results before you switch over.
- 1
Request your records
Eclipse’s published pages do not describe a data export. Ask Ultimate Business Systems what your account allows you to export, usually as CSV or Excel files, and check with them directly. Request your customer, stock and service history records, and confirm what other records you need, such as sales, parts and invoices, are available to move.
- 2
Map and load the files
Use the import path to bring the records into Dealership for Claude Code. The columns from Eclipse will not match the import as they are, so have Claude Code map them to the right fields. Run a test import first, review what it reports, and only then load the records. You do not need to enter commands yourself.
- 3
Review the import results
Check the test results and the loaded records for rows the import flags or skips, fields that did not line up, and gaps in the history you expected to bring across. Resolve mapping issues and repeat the test where needed. Check a sample of customer, stock and service records against Eclipse so you know the information landed as expected.
- 4
Run both side by side
Keep Eclipse available for a short period while you use Dealership for Claude Code. Compare the records and day-to-day work in both systems, and note anything that is missing or behaves differently. Use this period to settle any remaining field or rule changes and confirm that the records you rely on are in the new system before you stop using Eclipse.
- 5
Switch off Eclipse
Once you have checked the imported records and are satisfied that the new system is ready for your work, make Dealership for Claude Code your operating record and stop using Eclipse. Keep your exported files according to your own record-keeping needs. Your accounting and payroll stay with your accountant and payroll provider, rather than moving into the dealer system.
Where the real effort goes
The real work is usually matching Eclipse’s columns to the new system’s fields, setting up your own rules and deciding how much history to bring across. The records will not line up automatically, and the Eclipse pages do not specify an export process. If Enterprise DNA runs the system for you, it handles the mapping and migration work as part of the setup.

Questions
Instead of Eclipse, answered
Eclipse also runs our accounting and payroll. What happens to that? expand_more
Those stay with your accountant and your payroll provider, on purpose. The dealer system records every sale, invoice and parts movement, and hands them to Xero or your bookkeeper in one export. Keeping the books separate is what lets you change dealer software later without moving your ledger too.
Can we get our records out of Eclipse? expand_more
The Eclipse pages we read do not describe an export, so ask Ultimate Business Systems for your customers, stock and service history as CSV or Excel files. The columns will not match the free version's import as they come, so lining them up is part of what we do, or you ask Claude Code to map them and run a test first.
We sell caravans, machinery or boats, not cars. Does it fit? expand_more
The records are the same: customers, units, sales, service jobs, parts and invoices. What differs is the paperwork and which checks apply to which kind of unit. In the free version you ask Claude Code to change them. When we build your version, we set them for what you sell.
We list stock on our website and the classifieds from Eclipse. Do we lose that? expand_more
The free version keeps the stock list but does not push it anywhere. Connections to your website or listing sites are scoped when Enterprise DNA builds your version.
We have been on Eclipse for twenty years. Is it worth the move? expand_more
That history is the reason to own it. Moved into a database you control, every past sale and service visit becomes something you can ask about, such as which buyers from five years ago are due for an upgrade, instead of something you rent access to.
