Switching

How to switch from Fundwave Portfolio

The move involves exporting your portfolio metrics, mapping them to your company and metric records, checking the results and running both systems side by side before you switch.

  1. 1

    Export the figures you need

Fundwave documents exporting portfolio metrics to Excel. Export the company figures you need, including reporting dates, values and currencies where available. Fundwave does not document one universal export layout, so check with Fundwave about the options and sheet format available to your account. Include source references if your export provides them and you need them for review.

  2. 2

    Map and test the import

Before loading figures, set up the company and metric definitions they belong to. Map the spreadsheet headers to those definitions, then run the import's test option first. This lets you review how the rows match before they are added. Once the test looks right, load the agreed figures into the database. The import does not approve figures automatically.

  3. 3

    Resolve the flagged records

Review the import results for unknown companies, currency mismatches, malformed rows, duplicates or conflicting values. Correct the source data or mapping and test again before loading. Then reconcile the imported company, metric, reporting period and value counts against the original export. Keep the export private, and remember that attachments, permissions, messages and investment transactions need separate migration work.

  4. 4

    Run both systems together

Use the new database and Claude Code alongside Fundwave Portfolio for a short period. Check that your team can find missing figures, review source evidence and complete the collection and reporting work you rely on. Compare the agreed records and reporting results with Fundwave, and resolve any gaps before making the new setup your working source. Keep the scope to the monitoring work the new setup covers.

  5. 5

    Switch off Fundwave Portfolio

When the records are reconciled and your team can complete its monitoring work in the new setup, stop using Fundwave Portfolio for that work. First check whether you still rely on Fundwave for other modules or records that have not been migrated. Keep the source export protected, and confirm contract and access arrangements with Fundwave before ending service or access.

construction

Where the real effort goes

Most of the work is mapping your own company names, metrics, units and reporting rules, then deciding how much history to bring across and reconciling it. The spreadsheet import covers portfolio figures, not every Fundwave record or module. If you have Enterprise DNA run the setup, they handle the agreed mapping, migration and reconciliation work before switching.

Questions

Instead of Fundwave Portfolio, answered

Is every Fundwave customer paying a five-figure annual bill? expand_more

No. This comparison starts with Portfolio Enterprise at the displayed $1,200 monthly rate, which is $14,400 over twelve months before onboarding. Seed starts lower and annual discounts are offered. The pricing page uses a dollar symbol without specifying its currency code in the displayed copy. Confirm your currency, billing terms and actual invoice.

Can we bring across the figures we already have? expand_more

Yes. Fundwave documents exporting portfolio metrics to Excel. The free version imports a saved spreadsheet after its columns are mapped and the company and metric definitions are set up. It retains the reporting dates, values, currencies and source reference. Attachments, permissions, messages and investment transactions need separate migration work. We reconcile the agreed records before switching.

Does this replace every Fundwave module? expand_more

The free base runs the internal monitoring desk: company figures, collection deadlines, reviews, actions and reporting packs. It does not calculate valuations, investment returns, tax or payment instructions. We scope the wider connections and screens your business needs. Regulated fund administration remains with the responsible professionals.

What stops incomplete figures getting into a reporting pack? expand_more

A checked pack requires approved current figures for all reporting requirements, current company reviews and the required personal-record evidence. Corrected figures need another review. Names are entered by the operator in the free version; we build identity checks and access controls into the managed setup. These are record checks, not a compliance certificate or permission to distribute.

How do you charge for building and running our version? expand_more

One setup fee, then a retainer. We agree the migration, reporting rules, access controls and ongoing operation around the work your team needs. Bring a sample company return and your actual Fundwave bill so the comparison is specific.
