Enterprise DNA

Instead of HSI Donesafe

Stop paying HSI Donesafe per worker and per module. Own your health and safety system.

Enterprise DNA builds your version around how your sites report, investigate and close out, brings your Donesafe records across and runs it for you. No module list to choose from and no recount when the crew grows.

HSI Donesafe publishes no prices. It quotes each business privately, on the total number of workers and the modules chosen.

What the quote is built from

Two meters running over one safety record

Donesafe's own pricing page names the two things that set your price: how many workers you have and how many modules you take. Underneath both sits the same short list of records every safety system keeps.

groups

Every worker counted

Donesafe says a worker is anyone in your organisation, and the price is based on the total. The office, the yard and the casuals all go into the number, whether or not they ever file anything.

view_module

A module menu of fifty and more

Incidents, risk, chemicals, injury management and dozens more are sold as separate application modules. You pick today's set and pay again to add the next one.

request_quote

A number only after you ask

There is no price on the page. You get in touch, describe your headcount and your modules, and receive a quote you cannot compare against anything published.

construction

Setup sold as add-on services

Implementation, project management, configuration, data migration, training and analytics are listed as optional extras on top of the subscription. Getting live is its own line item.

tune

A form builder you still have to drive

The no-code builder, smart forms and workflow designer mean someone spends time building and maintaining screens. The screens are the product; the records underneath are yours already.

lock

Years of history inside their platform

Every incident, investigation and risk assessment you have recorded sits on their servers. How you get it out depends on what your account offers, and the answer comes from their support desk.

What you get instead

The records Donesafe meters, with nothing counting heads

No meters

One system, no module menu, no worker count

Incidents, risks, actions, inspections, inductions, tickets and chemicals come together from day one. Nothing is switched on later for a fee.

  • check No price per worker, so casuals and contractors go on the record freely
  • check No module to buy before the chemical register or the training matrix appears
  • check Contractors on the training matrix, since duties overlap on a shared site
  • check Owner, manager and supervisor each ask their own questions in everyday words

After an event

Notifiable events that cannot slip through

When something serious happens, the duties appear the moment it is logged, and the record holds firm until the steps are done.

  • check A notifiable event stays open until the date the regulator was told is recorded
  • check No investigation closes without a corrective action or a written reason for none
  • check The written notification is drafted from the record for a person to check and send
  • check Twelve months of near misses per site, so a site that goes quiet is noticed

Every morning

One worst-first list of what is late

Overdue actions, lapsed inductions, expired tickets, missed inspections and old safety data sheets arrive on a single list, harm to people ahead of cost.

  • check Each overdue action shows the event or inspection behind it and the person who owns it
  • check High and critical risks held only by PPE or paperwork stay flagged until the controls go up
  • check Tickets due in the next sixty days, by name, before they lapse
  • check Risks that keep causing incidents show their full history, something a module dashboard does not line up

Your records

Safety history the business keeps for good

Your people, events, risks and training live in a database you control, readable by any tool, and still yours if you stop paying anyone.

  • check Donesafe records brought across with a test run first and a check on the way in
  • check Any notifiable event that arrives with no reported date goes straight to the top of the list
  • check Notifiable-event records kept for the five years New Zealand law requires
  • check Board packs and a printable risk register made from the data in your own branding

Switching

How to switch from HSI Donesafe

A move usually involves exporting the registers your account allows, mapping Donesafe's columns, testing the import, and checking the records before you stop using it.

  1. 1

    Export your key registers

Before giving notice, ask HSI support what export options your account allows. Some registers may export from their own screens, and administrators may have a whole-account export in settings. Start with people, risks, incidents and training. Keep the exported records available so you can compare them with the imported data.

  2. 2

Load the records with a test

Donesafe's column names and layout differ from the formats the free version reads, so the records will not load without mapping. Map the exported fields to the new system, or have Enterprise DNA do this as part of setup. Run a test first. The test does not write records, so check the result and make any changes before loading the data.

  3. 3

    Review what the import flags

Treat the import as a first audit. Check the imported records and review anything the process identifies before relying on the new system. Pay particular attention to notifiable events with no regulator-notified date, since those appear at the top of the attention list after import. Resolve any mapping issues before you use the new records for day-to-day decisions.

  4. 4

    Run both systems briefly

Keep HSI Donesafe available while you use the new system for a short period. Compare the same records in both systems and check that the details you need are present and mapped as expected. Use this period to identify gaps in the imported data or in the fields and rules you have set up, then correct them before you make the change permanent.

  5. 5

    Switch off HSI Donesafe

Once you have checked the imported records and are comfortable using the new system, follow HSI Donesafe's process to end your account. Keep the export you took for your own reference. Make sure the people responsible for safety records know where the new records live and how your business will keep them up to date.

construction

Where the real effort goes

The main work is usually mapping Donesafe's column names to the new system, setting up your own fields and rules, and deciding how much history to bring across. You can map the records yourself or ask Claude Code to do it. If Enterprise DNA runs the system for you, they handle the mapping and setup as part of that work.

Questions

Instead of HSI Donesafe, answered

Donesafe has more than fifty modules. What does this cover? expand_more

The health and safety core most businesses use every week: incidents and near misses, the risk register, corrective actions, inspections, inductions, tickets, toolbox talks and the chemical register with safety data sheets. Injury and claims management, quality and environmental registers are not in the free version. Enterprise DNA builds the ones you actually use into your version, on the same database.

How do we get our records out of Donesafe? expand_more

It depends on what your account allows. Administrators may have a whole-account export in settings. Ask HSI support what your plan offers before you give notice, and pull people, risks, incidents and training first.

Will a Donesafe export load straight in? expand_more

Not without mapping. The free version reads the column layout used by ecoPortal and SiteDocs exports, and Donesafe's files carry their own column names and layout. Mapping them is part of the Enterprise DNA setup, or you can ask Claude Code to map them yourself. Either way a test run comes first, and nothing is written until you are happy with it.

We are in Australia. Does it know our WHS rules? expand_more

The rule book in the free version is written for New Zealand law and cites every section it checks. The records work the same in either country. For an Australian business, Enterprise DNA tunes the rule book to your business during setup, with sources kept.

Our crews report from their phones in Donesafe. What happens to that? expand_more

The free version is run by whoever keeps the safety records, typing in everyday words. If your crews need to report from site, Enterprise DNA builds a simple phone form into your version that lands in the same database. The record and the follow-up are what count, however the report arrives.

Stop paying more for safety every time you hire

Thirty minutes with Sam. We go through what your Donesafe quote covers, which modules your people really use, and what your own version would look like across your sites. If it fits, we build it and run it. If not, the free version is yours to keep.
