Instead of MyTrucking
Paying MyTrucking for every truck on the road? Own your transport system.
We build your version around your cartage rates, your runs and the way your drivers finish a job, bring your MyTrucking customers and history across, and run it for you.
MyTrucking lists NZ$70 a month per vehicle for the first five vehicles and NZ$40 a month for each one after that, with a NZ$70 monthly minimum, ex GST. The Australian page shows the same figures in AUD.

How the bill is worked out
One charge for every vehicle that ran a job this month
MyTrucking has no contract and no setup cost. The meter is the fleet: each vehicle that is assigned a job in the billing month is charged, and the count includes trucks you hire in.
Your first five trucks at the top rate
Each of the first five vehicles is NZ$70 a month. That is NZ$840 a year for every one of them, before the sixth truck joins.
Every truck after that, every month
Vehicle six onward is NZ$40 a month each, NZ$480 a year per truck. Buying a unit to win a contract adds a software line the day it runs.
Subcontractors on your bill
Vehicles used in the month count, sub-contractors included. Lean on an owner-driver through a busy harvest or a log rush and you pay for their truck too.
A minimum that never stops
There is a NZ$70 monthly floor. A quiet month with one truck working still carries a fee, and the bill restarts every month for as long as you run.
The last rate, not the agreed rate
Auto pricing applies the rate you last used for a job of the same spec. That is quick, and it is also how one wrong price gets copied into the next month of work.
Exports built for the accountant
The published export options are mostly invoice files for accounting systems such as Reckon and Accredo. Your jobs, drivers and rates are records you rent access to.
What you get instead
The dispatch desk and the accounts office, in plain English
Jobs and rates
Priced off what the customer agreed
Each job is rated from that customer's own card, or your standard tariff where they have none, and the rate used is written on the job so anyone can check it later.
- check A customer's agreed rate always beats the tariff, and a job with no matching rate is flagged instead of moving for nothing
- check Which lanes keep landing on the minimum charge, so you know which rates to put up
- check What is late against its required date, or booked and sitting on no run, in one morning list
- check Ask about any customer, lane, truck or month in your own words
Month end
Delivered work turns into invoices, unsigned work gets chased
Jobs that are done but not billed are money sitting in the yard. This puts a dollar figure beside every one of them.
- check A chase list of delivered jobs still missing a signature, oldest first, with what each one holds up
- check Billing will not invoice a job without a signed delivery, so disputes start with proof in hand
- check One draft invoice per customer from signed work, with the fuel levy on its own line
- check On-time and in-full rates per customer, ready before the rate review
Road rules
Hours, loads and the truck's paperwork, checked every day
The rules an operator lives under are checks against your own records, each one naming the rule it comes from.
- check Driver days checked against the work time limits, with any breach listed by driver and date
- check A run cannot be loaded past the truck's rated payload
- check Dangerous goods cannot go on a run with a driver who lacks the endorsement
- check COF, rego and road user charges distance per truck, flagged before they run out
Ownership
Grow the fleet, not the software bill
Your customers, jobs, rates and drivers sit in a database you own, and a new truck or a hired-in unit costs nothing to add.
- check Put every truck, subcontractor and office person on it with no per-vehicle charge
- check Invoices, con notes and run sheets come out with your logo and your colours
- check Add a field, a rule or a new report by describing it
- check Open source under the MIT licence, with nothing to cancel
Make it yours
Design your own MyTrucking replacement
Everything starts from the open-source base. Then it gets your name, the parts you run, your rules and your data from MyTrucking. Try it here, and we build the real one.

Switching
How to switch from MyTrucking
The move depends on what MyTrucking lets you export, how your fields and rules map, and how much history you choose to bring across.
- 1
Export what MyTrucking allows
Ask MyTrucking what your account can export. Its documented exports are mostly invoice files for accounting systems, not a full copy of your jobs, customers and rates, so check what else is available. Export the customer, job or consignment, rate and invoice records you can. If downloads are available as CSV or Excel, save the original files so you can check them against the imported data.
- 2
Map and load your records
Freight Ops reads CSV data, but MyTrucking’s columns differ from the format it reads. Ask Claude Code to map the available fields before loading anything. If the import offers a test run, use it first. If it does not, start with a small sample and check the mapping before bringing in more records. Decide which history to include based on what you were able to export.
- 3
Review import warnings
Check anything the import flags or Claude Code cannot map, and compare the imported records with your original files. Pay particular attention to customer names, job details, rates and invoice records. Correct mismatches before relying on the new database. If some records or fields were not available in your MyTrucking export, note what is missing so you know which history did not come across.
- 4
Run both systems briefly
Keep MyTrucking in use while you check Freight Ops against your day-to-day work for a short period. Compare new jobs, customer rates and delivery records in both systems, and resolve any differences you find. This gives you a chance to catch mapping problems before you depend on the new database. Keep the original exports available during these checks.
- 5
Switch off MyTrucking
When the records and daily work check out, make Freight Ops your working system and contact MyTrucking about stopping your service. Before you close access, keep the exported records and anything else you still need from MyTrucking. Freight Ops has no web front end, so you and your team use it through Claude Code rather than through the MyTrucking screen.
Where the real effort goes
The real work is usually matching your own fields and operating rules to the new database, then deciding how much history to bring across. MyTrucking’s documented exports do not provide a full copy of jobs, customers and rates, so the available records and the mapping both matter. If you have Enterprise DNA install and run it, they handle this mapping work as part of setup.

Questions
Instead of MyTrucking, answered
MyTrucking is cheap for a small fleet. Why would I move? expand_more
With one or two trucks the monthly fee is small. The charge is per vehicle used, NZ$70 each for the first five and NZ$40 each after that, so it climbs with every unit you buy and every subcontractor you put on a job. Moving also gives you your records in a database you own, rates checked against what each customer agreed, and answers to questions no fixed report covers.
My drivers use the MyTrucking app. What do they use instead? expand_more
The free version has no driver app. A signed delivery is recorded as a name and a time, entered by the office or brought in from whatever your drivers already use. When Enterprise DNA builds your version, a driver app for dockets, signatures and photos can be part of it, with no monthly charge per truck for the software.
Can I bring my MyTrucking history with me? expand_more
Yes, with some mapping. The exports MyTrucking documents are mostly invoice files for accounting systems, not a full copy of your jobs, customers and rates, so we start from whatever it lets you download. Those columns differ from the format the free version reads. Lining them up is part of what Enterprise DNA does when we set it up, or you can ask Claude Code to map them yourself.
We cart livestock and logs, not parcels. Does this fit? expand_more
The free version is built around jobs, runs, signed deliveries, rates and the road rules every carrier shares. Stock numbers, tallies, tonnes per load or the paperwork your type of cartage needs are fields and rules we add when we build your version, or you describe them and add them yourself.
Does it work with Xero and MYOB? expand_more
The free version drafts one invoice per customer from signed work, in your brand, and you load it into your accounts yourself. In the version Enterprise DNA builds, we connect it to Xero or MYOB so invoices go straight across.
Put on the next truck without a new line on the software bill
Thirty minutes with Sam. We go through what MyTrucking costs you across your own trucks and the subcontractors you use, which parts your office and drivers actually rely on, and what your own version would look like. If it fits, we build it and run it. If it does not, the free version is yours to keep.
