Instead of Persefoni
Stop renting Persefoni. Own your carbon accounting.
We build your version around your sites, suppliers and customers, bring your Persefoni history across, and run it for you. Your emissions record stays yours.
Persefoni's own marketplace listing charges US$55,000 a year for organisations under US$250M revenue, and US$90,000 a year up to a billion dollars of revenue.

What the subscription charges for
A revenue-banded fee to multiply your bills by published factors
The arithmetic is public: the quantity off each bill times a factor the government publishes every year. Most of what you pay for is the screen around it.
A fee set by your revenue
Persefoni's listing prices each year by revenue band: US$55,000 under US$250M, US$90,000 up to a billion dollars. Grow past a band and the same footprint costs more to measure.
Supplier exchange on the paid plan
The free Persefoni plan is for one user. Sending requests to suppliers and receiving their answers, custom factors and more users come with the paid tiers.
Data volume as a price list
IBM Envizi counts every tracked meter, supplier and measure as an account and prices in bands of up to 1,000, up to 5,000 and above 5,000 accounts.
Scope 3 as an add-on
Envizi lists scope 1, 2 and 3 calculations, ESG reporting and supply chain emissions as add-ons that raise the quoted price.
Your history in their ledger
Persefoni's export data dictionary sits behind its customer login. The calculation lives in their system; leaving means mapping their columns to someone else's.
Quotes instead of prices
Watershed, Sweep and Normative publish no price at all. You find out what the footprint will cost to measure in a sales call.
Your version
The emissions year, run from a database you own
YEAR-END
A year that locks and stays locked
Close each year the same way, and the number you sent a customer never moves.
- check One list of everything stopping the close: missing months, bills with no factor, suppliers yet to reply
- check Locking freezes every line; the database refuses changes to that year afterwards
- check Corrections go into the open year with a note, not into a year already reported
- check A branded inventory document with every factor, its source and the sign-off
CUSTOMERS AND SUPPLIERS
The requests that land in your inbox
Big customers now ask suppliers for their emissions every year. Answer on time, and ask your own suppliers the same way.
- check Every customer request logged with what they asked for and the deadline
- check A drafted reply with scope 1, 2 and 3, each category and emissions per tonne of product
- check Supplier requests chased with drafted emails, overdue ones at the top
- check Supplier figures recorded with how they were worked out, never sent without you
EVERY BILL
Missing data found before the auditor finds it
The footprint is only as good as the bills behind it.
- check Months with no bill, for every meter and fuel card, with who to ask
- check One chase note per person, listing exactly what they owe
- check Estimates marked, with how each was made and its share of the total
- check Each bill uses the factor for its own year, with the page it came from
ANZ RULES
The rules a New Zealand or Australian business meets
Checks the Persefoni dashboard was never built to run for a business on both sides of the Tasman.
- check Which Australian climate reporting group each company falls into, and from when
- check Each Australian site against the NGER facility threshold, every financial year
- check A warning when a power bill is still on last year's Ministry for the Environment or NGA factor
- check A base-year check when a site opens or closes

Switching
How to switch from Persefoni
A move involves exporting your Footprint Ledger, checking the import row by row, and comparing the last closed year in both systems before you stop using Persefoni.
- 1
Export your Footprint Ledger
Export your Footprint Ledger from Persefoni as a CSV. This is the activity data export the importer reads. If you cannot find the export path or CSV option in your account, check with Persefoni about what your account allows before you proceed.
- 2
Run a test import
Start with the import's test run, which checks the ledger without saving it. It recalculates each row in the new system and shows Persefoni's tonnes beside the new system's tonnes. Use this preview before bringing the records across, so you can see what the import would do first.
- 3
Review skipped and flagged rows
Check what the test run says would come across, what would be skipped, and why. Review each row's tonnes and any differences, including whether they relate to a factor edition or method. The preview also identifies categories the free version does not hold yet, such as refrigerants, so you can decide how to handle them.
- 4
Import the checked records
Once you have reviewed the test results and resolved any questions, import the ledger. Check that the activity records you expected are present in the new database. Keep the test results available as a reference while you verify the totals and any remaining differences.
- 5
Compare, then switch off Persefoni
Keep both systems in use for a short comparison period. Run your last closed year in each and compare the totals until they match or every gap is explained. Once you have completed that check and are ready to work from the new system, stop using Persefoni for your carbon accounting.
Where the real effort goes
The main work is usually mapping your own fields and rules, then deciding how much history to bring across. The test run helps show which rows need attention before they are saved. If Enterprise DNA installs and runs the system for you, they handle the setup and bring your history across as part of that work.

Questions
Instead of Persefoni, answered
Can we bring our Persefoni history across? expand_more
Yes. Export your Footprint Ledger as a spreadsheet file, do a test run that shows what would come across, what would be skipped and why, and Persefoni's tonnes beside ours for every row. Then bring it in. Categories the free version does not hold yet, such as refrigerants, are listed so nothing disappears quietly.
Will our numbers match what Persefoni reported? expand_more
Row by row they should be close, and the test run shows every difference. Differences come from a different factor edition, flights with or without the radiative forcing uplift, or electricity reported on a market basis. We run your last closed year in both systems until the totals match or every gap is explained.
Is this good enough for climate reporting and assurance? expand_more
It measures to the GHG Protocol, keeps every factor with its source page, marks every estimate and locks each finished year, which is what an assurance provider asks to see. Your auditor still gives the assurance. Scenario analysis and the written climate statement are what Enterprise DNA builds into your version if you report under AASB S2 or the New Zealand climate standards.
Our bills come from everywhere. Who keeps the data up to date? expand_more
In the free version your team logs each bill and the system lists exactly what is missing and who to ask. When we run it for you, we chase the bills, add each year's new factors, answer customer requests by their deadlines and run the year-end close with your finance team.
What does Enterprise DNA charge? expand_more
One setup fee to build your version and bring your history across, then a retainer for ongoing work. There is no revenue band, so growing the business does not change the bill. If you would rather run it yourself, the free version is yours to keep.
