What the subscription covers
A bill that grows with every login and module
PlotBox publishes its price list for UK councils. It shows how the bill is built: each named user by tier, each module, and the setup.
Every office user priced
Each administrative user costs £150 a month, which is £1,800 a year per person before VAT.
Grounds staff pay too
A groundsperson, cremation technician or receptionist who logs in is £50 a month each.
Modules bolted on
Digital mapping, the funeral director portal, the mason portal, the public search and the finance export are each sold as a bolt-on.
Onboarding on top
The minimum setup for one cemetery with three users and no data moved or mapped is £4,500. Migration and mapping cost more.
Changes billed by the day
Extra training, configuration and bespoke work come off a day-rate card with a half-day minimum.
Your register, their product
The burial register you must keep and open for inspection lives inside a vendor's system, on their terms.
Your own cemetery records

Bookings
Nothing missing on the day
Funeral director bookings carry the paperwork and the family's consent beside the time and plot.
- check A burial in a family plot is refused until the holder's consent is recorded
- check Bookings in the next 24 hours with no paperwork flagged
- check A confirmation to the funeral director drafted with anything still missing
- check The interment fee raised to the funeral director as it is booked
The register
A burial register you can print
Every burial and interment of ashes gets the next register number for its cemetery, with the plot described so the grave can be found.
- check Completed burials with no register number flagged
- check Family history enquiries answered by name and dates
- check Removals refused without the Minister's licence, and kept on the register
- check The register printed for each cemetery, indexed by name
Rights of burial
Know which family plots lapse
Each right of burial records its holder, certificate and date, and the 60-year lapse date is worked out for you.
- check Rights lapsing within a year, while the plot still has room
- check A letter to the holder drafted with the date and the law
- check A transfer to a new holder keeps the original date
- check A certificate of right for each holder, in your brand
Grounds and memorials
Safe headstones, tidy sections
Memorial permits, safety inspections and grounds jobs sit with the plot they belong to.
- check Unsafe memorials not made safe within a week flagged
- check Memorials installed without a permit found
- check Sunken graves and drainage jobs open past your target
- check Years left in each section at last year's rate

Switching
How to switch from PlotBox
A move involves exporting your PlotBox records, mapping them to the new database, checking the import, and running both systems side by side before you switch.
- 1
Export your PlotBox records
Build a PlotBox records report and export it to CSV. It brings across cemeteries, sections, plots, people interred with their dates and register numbers, and rights holders. Memorials, documents, the map, and money need their own exports. Check with PlotBox about what your account allows you to export for those records.
- 2
Preview, then load the records
Start with a preview of the records report before loading it. The preview lets you check the import before changes are made. Once you are comfortable with what it shows, load the report into Cemetery for Claude Code. If Enterprise DNA is running the system for you, they handle this import as part of the switch.
- 3
Review what the import flags
Go through the preview and any issues it flags before relying on the imported records. Check that cemeteries, sections, plots, interments, register numbers, and rights holders have come across as expected. Resolve gaps or mismatches before loading, and decide how to handle records that are in separate exports, such as memorials, documents, the map, and money.
- 4
Run both systems side by side
Keep PlotBox available for a short period while you use the new system for your day-to-day work. Compare key records and routine checks in both systems, including upcoming interments, register entries, and rights holders. Use this period to spot missing information or differences in how your own fields and rules have been mapped, then address them before switching.
- 5
Switch off PlotBox
Once your team has checked the records and is ready to work in the new system, make it the system you use for ongoing cemetery work. Keep any exports or records you need to retain, and switch off PlotBox when you no longer need it. The new system stores records in a database and has no web front end.
Where the real effort goes
The main work is usually mapping your own fields and rules, then deciding how much history to bring across. The standard records report covers cemeteries, sections, plots, interments, register numbers, and rights holders. Memorials, documents, the map, and money need their own exports and mapping. Enterprise DNA does this migration work when you have them install and run the system.

Questions
Instead of PlotBox, answered
What comes across from PlotBox? expand_more
A PlotBox records report saved as a spreadsheet brings cemeteries, sections, plots, the people interred with their dates and register numbers, and the rights holders. Memorials, documents, the map and money need their own exports, and we map those for you as part of the switch.
We rely on the map. What happens to it? expand_more
The free version describes each plot by section, row and number, which is what the register needs. If your team finds graves from a map, we build a map view on the same records as part of your version.
Funeral directors book online today. Can they still? expand_more
The free version has no portal: the office takes bookings by phone or email. If online booking matters, we build a booking page for funeral directors on the same records.
Does this keep us within the Burial and Cremation Act? expand_more
No system can promise that. It checks your records against the parts of the Act that show in data: the register, the holder's consent, the 60-year lapse and licences for removals, and cites the section for each. Your bylaw rules are added the same way.
What does Enterprise DNA charge? expand_more
One setup fee, then a retainer for the agreed work. Sam looks at your current PlotBox users, modules and the reports you rely on before setting the scope. The free version has no licence fee; hosting and agent subscriptions cost what they cost.
What would your own cemetery records look like?
Spend 30 minutes with Sam going through your PlotBox renewal, one cemetery and the jobs your office does each week. We agree what to bring across, what to build around it and how we run it for you.
