The incumbent bill
A recurring seat bill around account records
Salesforce Energy & Utilities Cloud sells a broad industry platform. Compare the parts your commercial service team uses with a version built around its own records.
Service seats
Service Core lists US$250 per user/month with annual billing. Each licensed operator adds to the subscription.
Sales and service together
Sales & Service Core lists US$325 per user/month, billed annually. Compare that edition with the work you actually need.
The service console
The industry offering includes contact-centre and case-management capabilities. Your account team still needs clear owners and response dates.
Reports around your records
The platform includes customisable reports and dashboards. Your own version can start with the questions used in your weekly review.
The connected platform
Salesforce documents integrations with external billing and pricing systems. Decide which connections your own version needs before agreeing the scope.
Moving your history
Salesforce supports Details Only report exports. Bringing records across means checking the exported fields and preserving the links between accounts and sites.

Switching
How to switch from Salesforce Energy & Utilities Cloud
A move usually involves exporting supported records, mapping your fields and relationships, testing the import, then reconciling both systems before you switch.
- 1
Export the records you need
Use Salesforce Energy & Utilities Cloud’s Details Only CSV export for the supported records you want to bring across: accounts, service points, agreements, meter readings, cases and move records. Export the reports that contain those records. If your account does not offer this export path or you are unsure which reports are available, check with Salesforce Energy & Utilities Cloud. Keep the original exports unchanged while you prepare the import.
- 2
Map and test the import
Before loading records, map your Salesforce labels to the supported fields and check that original identifiers and relationships are accounted for. Custom fields need mapping. Run a test import first so you can review the results before records are loaded. Attachments and automated workflows need a separate migration plan, so do not assume they will come across with the supported records.
- 3
Review the import results
Check the test results before proceeding with the import. Review the record counts and any ignored columns, then confirm that the labels, identifiers and relationships are mapped as intended. Resolve mapping issues before loading the records. Reconcile the results against your source reports so you know what was included and what still needs a separate plan.
- 4
Run both systems side by side
Keep Salesforce Energy & Utilities Cloud available while your team checks the imported records against the source and uses the new database for a short period. Compare account and service point links, agreement dates, reading exceptions, cases and move records. Reconcile differences before relying on the imported data. Keep processes that are not covered by the new system in Salesforce or their existing systems.
- 5
Switch off Salesforce for these operations
After you have reconciled the records and confirmed your team can complete the account work you are moving, stop using Salesforce Energy & Utilities Cloud for those operations. Keep any other Salesforce functions you still rely on until they have a separate replacement. Utility Accounts does not calculate utility bills, move money, control meters, decide disconnections or perform regulated supply switching.
Where the real effort goes
The main work is usually mapping your own field labels, agreement rules and relationships, then deciding how much history to bring across. Custom fields need mapping, while attachments and automated workflows need a separate migration plan. If you have Enterprise DNA install and run it for you, Enterprise DNA handles the import work and brings your records across.

Questions
Instead of Salesforce Energy & Utilities Cloud, answered
Is this a replacement for the whole Salesforce utility platform? expand_more
The free base covers commercial account administration: service points, agreements, readings, cases and move records. It does not calculate utility bills or change a supply. We scope your team screens and connections around the operational systems you need to keep.
Can you bring our existing Salesforce records across? expand_more
Yes, for the supported records in your Details Only exports. We check your labels, original identifiers and relationships before importing. Custom fields need mapping. Attachments and automated workflows need a separate migration plan. Do a test run first and reconcile the results.
Can our team use it without learning the technical setup? expand_more
With the managed version, Enterprise DNA installs it, brings your records across and maintains the routines. Your operators ask for the account review, overdue responses or renewal brief in plain language. A team screen can be included in your custom scope.
Does it approve compliance or control meters? expand_more
No. It flags accuracy and retention reviews and checks your recorded service deadlines. A person reviews the findings. Meter readings are recorded observations, move confirmation records external evidence, and no supply action is sent.
What do we pay Enterprise DNA? expand_more
One setup fee, then a retainer agreed for the version and ongoing work you need. The free base has no software licence fee. Hosting and your chosen assistant have their own costs. We agree the import, connections and support scope before starting.
Bring the bill and the weekly service review
Spend 30 minutes with Sam looking at what your utility account team uses, what your current platform costs and which records need to move. We will define the version your business needs and the work to build and run it.
