Instead of Sanity
Stop renting Sanity. Own your website content system.
We build your version around how your team writes and approves content, bring your Sanity records across and connect it to your existing website. We run it for you through Omni by Enterprise DNA.
Sanity lists each extra Growth dataset at US$999 a month. That is US$11,988 over a year for one extra dataset, before seats. Two datasets are already included in Growth.

Ten questions across your content and review history
These questions are answered by the free version today. They use your own review rules; Sanity can also be configured with custom queries.
Switching
How to switch from Sanity
The work usually depends on how your fields, website connection, media and history need to map, not just on exporting the content.
- 1
Export your Sanity dataset
Use Sanity’s dataset export and include the original document records, including drafts, release variants, references and asset metadata. The import uses the document data from that export. Media files, source permissions, Studio customisations and older version history need separate migration work. If you need help with the export process or what your account allows, check with Sanity.
- 2
Preview the import
Create the destination dataset, then use the import’s preview option before loading records. The preview lets you check the proposed import without changing records. Ask someone who knows your content to review it with you. This gives you a chance to catch mapping questions before the records are added to the new database.
- 3
Check what needs attention
Review the preview results and compare the proposed record IDs and document counts with your Sanity source. Look for records or fields that need a decision before you proceed. Imports with conflicts stop without overwriting local edits, so resolve any conflicts before running the import for real. Make a separate plan for media files and history that the document import does not bring across.
- 4
Run both side by side
Keep Sanity and your current website running while the connection from the new records to your existing site is adapted and tested. This replacement has no web front end, and the site needs an adapter for its content shapes and assets. Check the content your site relies on and the handover process before you plan the switch.
- 5
Switch off Sanity
Once the new content and your existing website connection have been checked, move the website handover to the new records. Confirm that any media, permissions or older history you still need has a separate plan, since these are not included in the document import. Keep your export private, and turn off Sanity only when you no longer depend on it.
Where the real effort goes
The import itself is only part of the work. The main effort is mapping your own fields and rules, checking how your existing website uses the content, and deciding which media, permissions and older history to bring across separately. When Enterprise DNA installs and runs your version, it maps and checks those migration requirements with you.

Questions
Instead of Sanity, answered
Are you saying every Sanity customer pays a five-figure bill? expand_more
No. Growth includes two datasets, and its seats are US$15 each per month. The costly configuration here is extra datasets: each is listed at US$999 a month. One extra alone is US$11,988 over twelve months. Bring your actual invoice so we can compare the work and services you need.
Can we bring across the content we already have? expand_more
Yes. The free version imports the document file from a Sanity dataset export. It preserves identifiers, rich text, nested fields, drafts and asset records. Media files, source permissions, editing customisations and older version history need separate migration work. We map and check those requirements for your custom version.
Will our current website still work? expand_more
We adapt and test the connection to your existing website before switching it over. The free version prepares local content bundles. Your website delivery, media storage, previews and editor screens are scoped into the custom version, with the current site kept running during the move.
What stops unreviewed or stale content being handed over? expand_more
A bundle requires current field checks, a recorded review by a different editor label and complete references. Content edits and rule changes invalidate old approvals. The free version records operator-entered names. We build identity checks and access controls into your managed setup. The evidence checks support review work; they do not certify legal compliance.
How does Enterprise DNA charge for our version? expand_more
One setup fee, then a retainer. We agree the content migration, website connection, editor experience and ongoing operation around your business. Your actual Sanity bill and content examples give us the starting point.
