The plans
What SmartyGrants charges
SmartyGrants does not publish its price. You pay an annual access fee for each instance, with the fee band based on how much you give away each year.
Annual access fee per instance
Quoted privately
The fee is banded by yearly grants, awards and scholarships disbursement, and public bands show price on application.
How the bill is built
Your annual disbursement
The annual access fee moves up through bands based on how much your organisation gives away in grants, awards and scholarships. Give away more in a year and you may move into a higher fee band.
A price by application
SmartyGrants does not show public prices for its bands. Each one is listed as price on application, and current rate cards are visible only to logged-in subscribers.
Each instance
The fee is charged per instance, rather than per user or application. Separate entities or departments with their own programmes may each need their own subscription.
Extra services
The API, OData reporting, Xero integration, single sign-on, metadata export, secure FTP backup, data migration and re-skinning are listed as extra services. These sit outside the annual access fee.
A year of SmartyGrants
Your yearly cost is private
SmartyGrants does not publish an annual price, so you cannot calculate your yearly total from public figures. The annual access fee is quoted privately and depends on your yearly grants, awards and scholarships disbursement. The bill can also rise if you need extra services such as data migration, integrations, reporting connections, backup or re-skinning.
Underneath the bill
What you are really paying for
A fee tied to giving
Your annual access fee is banded by how much you give away, not by the number of users or applications. The amount can rise when your grants, awards and scholarships disbursement moves into a higher band, even if the work is much the same.
An instance for your organisation
The fee applies per instance. If separate entities or departments run their own programmes, each may need its own subscription. The number of users and applications does not set the fee, but having more than one instance can affect what you pay.
Connections and changes
Some services sit outside the access fee. The listed extras include data migration, the API, OData reporting, Xero integration, single sign-on, metadata export, secure FTP backup and re-skinning. Your total can therefore include charges beyond the annual subscription.

Questions
SmartyGrants pricing, answered
How is the SmartyGrants annual fee worked out? expand_more
SmartyGrants charges an annual access fee per instance. The fee is banded according to your yearly grants, awards and scholarships disbursement, rather than the number of users or applications. The public pricing bands say price on application, so you need to ask for your price.
Can I work out my SmartyGrants cost for the year? expand_more
Not from public prices. SmartyGrants does not publish an annual amount, and its fee is quoted on application. Your yearly disbursement determines the fee band, and extra services such as migration or integrations may add to the cost.
Are integrations and data migration included in the fee? expand_more
They are listed as extra services, not as part of the annual access fee. The list includes data migration, the API, OData reporting, Xero integration, single sign-on, metadata export, secure FTP backup and re-skinning. Ask SmartyGrants which extra services apply to your instance.
