Instead of Storman
Stop renting Storman. Own your self storage system.
We build your version around your units, fees and storage agreement, bring your Storman rent roll across and run it for you. You keep the database and decide how it works.
Storman does not publish its prices. Each facility is quoted, and payments, online move-ins, gate access and reporting are separate pieces on top.

What the quote covers
A subscription sized by your units, plus the add-ons
Storman quotes each facility rather than publishing a price list, and review sites describe the subscription as tiered by the number of units. Much of the day-to-day value sits in pieces sold alongside the core system.
Unit count
The subscription grows with the number of units on site, so every new block of units moves the bill.
More sites
Each extra facility is another site on the account, and group reporting across sites is part of the higher tiers.
Payments
Card and direct debit collection runs through the vendor group’s payment business, with its own fees per transaction.
Online move-ins
Reservations, e-signed agreements and move-ins on your website are a separate module.
Gate access
Linking overlocks and gate codes to your access control system depends on the integration partner you use.
Reporting
Online reporting and custom reports are an add-on, and the questions are the ones the vendor built.

Ten questions your facility can answer today
These run on a fictional facility’s records. Storman has its own reports. The difference here is that the manager asks their own questions and changes the rules themselves.
Switching
How to switch from Storman
A move involves exporting your rent roll, checking how your records map, testing the import, then running both systems side by side before you switch.
- 1
Export your Storman records
In Storman’s Reporting menu, run a rent roll or unit list report and export it to Excel. Save the export as CSV for the import. The rent roll brings across units, unit sizes, storers, agreements, paid-to dates and balances. Payment history, notes and documents are not included in that report, so plan separately for the records you need to keep.
- 2
Load a test import
Start with a test run of the rent roll import before loading the records for day-to-day use. It brings the report data into the new system, including units, storers, agreements and balances. A repeat import updates existing records rather than duplicating them. If Storman does not offer the report or export you need, check with Storman about what your account allows.
- 3
Review the import results
Check the test results before proceeding. Confirm that the units, sizes, storers, agreements, paid-to dates and balances have come across as expected. Look at any records the import does not map cleanly, and resolve those before relying on the new system. The test run gives you a chance to spot mismatches before the imported records become part of your daily work.
- 4
Run both systems side by side
Keep Storman available while you use the new system for a short overlap period. Compare the rent roll, balances and the routine work you rely on, and make sure the records behave as expected. Payment history, notes and documents remain in Storman unless you arrange to bring them across separately. Use this period to confirm what history you still need before ending Storman.
- 5
Switch off Storman
Once you have checked the imported records and completed the side-by-side period, decide when to stop using Storman. Before you do, make sure you have dealt with any payment history, notes and documents you need, since they are not part of the rent roll import. Keep access to the information you still need, then end your Storman service through your normal account process.
Where the real effort goes
The real work is usually mapping your own fields and facility rules, then deciding which history to bring across. The rent roll import covers core operating records, but payment history, notes and documents are not in that report. If Enterprise DNA installs and runs the system for you, Enterprise DNA handles the mapping and import work as part of the switch.

Questions
Instead of Storman, answered
Storman does a lot. Why would we change? expand_more
If it does everything you need, you may not. The reason to own your version is control: your agreement’s rules enforced the way you read them, your records in a database you hold, and answers your manager can get without waiting for a report. We start with the jobs that do not fit today.
Can storers still move in online and pay by card? expand_more
The free version is run by the manager, and it records payments rather than taking them. Enterprise DNA builds an online move-in page and connects card or direct debit collection in your custom version.
What about our gate access system? expand_more
This version records overlocks and tells the manager which ones to put on or take off. Changing gate codes is done in your access system, so we connect it in your custom version where your provider allows.
Can we bring our Storman history? expand_more
Yes. Storman exports its reports to Excel, and the free version imports a rent roll after a test run: units, sizes, storers, rates, paid-to dates and balances. Payment history and notices already sent are not in that report, so we bring those across as part of your switch.
Is this legal advice on default and sale? expand_more
No. It checks your records against the periods in the storage agreement your storers signed and refuses action before those periods have run. Take advice before any sale. The rules are settings, so they match your agreement, your state and New Zealand.
