Instead of Torii

Stop renting Torii. Own your software renewal system.

We build your version around how you review licences and renew contracts, bring across your Torii contract records, and run it for you through Omni by Enterprise DNA.

Torii gives pricing through its sales team. Its public pricing page lists software management capabilities without a numeric fee. Compare your own contract with the work your team needs.

The weekly software review, built around your business

Renewals

Act before the notice window closes

Contract expiry and the last day to give notice are different dates. See both, with an owner for the decision.

  • check Notice dates calculated from recorded calendar-day terms
  • check Missing periods remain visible until checked
  • check Past deadlines stay on the review list
  • check Whole-term commitments grouped by original currency

Licences

Check the evidence behind unused seats

An old activity report cannot prove a licence is unused. Keep its observation date beside the last recorded use.

  • check Purchased seats compared with recorded assignments
  • check Fresh evidence separated from stale observations
  • check Inactive candidates listed for a person to review
  • check Access changes recorded only after they happen elsewhere

Decisions

Keep the reason with the recommendation

Record whether to renew, reduce, cancel or defer, with the evidence and two named reviewers.

  • check Contract details captured with each decision
  • check A contract edit marks earlier recommendations as stale
  • check Overlapping software categories ready for an owner discussion
  • check Draft renewal briefs and access reviews in your branding

Ownership

Ask across your own software records

Your renewal process belongs to your business. Add the checks and questions your owners actually use.

Ten questions to ask of your software records

These questions run on the free version today. Torii also supports configurable reporting; the difference here is that you own and can change the underlying records and rules.

Switching

How to switch from Torii

A move usually involves exporting your contract records, mapping your fields, checking the imported data and running both systems side by side before you switch.

  1. 1

    Export the Torii contract list

Start with the contract list in Torii’s Renewals area, and check the fields and filters before exporting. Export what your account allows, usually CSV or Excel. The records to bring across include contract names, application names, status, dates and original values. If you are unsure which export options your account supports, check with Torii.

  2. 2

    Rehearse and load the records

Run a rehearsal of the import before loading records, so you can check the result without treating it as the completed move. Map custom notice periods and seat fields to the new register. Then load the records you have chosen to bring across. Extra fields remain with the source record unless you map them as part of the migration.

  3. 3

    Review the import checks

Review the issues reported by the rehearsal and check the loaded records against Torii. Compare record counts and original currency totals, and investigate differences before relying on the new register. Confirm that important dates, statuses and original values came across as expected. Attachments, connected usage and account automation need separate work, so check those needs before switching.

  4. 4

    Run both side by side

Keep Torii available for a short period while you use the new register to review records and upcoming renewal decisions. Compare the records and totals, and have the relevant owners check that the information they need is present. The new register does not discover connected software or automate account activity, so do not assume those Torii functions are covered by the move.

  5. 5

    Switch off Torii

Once the records and totals have been checked and your team is ready to use the new register, arrange to switch off Torii. Before you do, confirm that any separate work for attachments, connected usage, account automation or team screens has been addressed. The new register does not contact vendors or revoke accounts, so keep those decisions and actions with your team.

Where the real effort goes

The main work is usually mapping your own fields and rules, then deciding which records and history to bring across. Custom notice periods and seat fields need mapping, while attachments and connected usage need separate work. If you have Enterprise DNA install and run it for you, Enterprise DNA handles the migration and agreed setup work with you.

Questions

Instead of Torii, answered

Does this replace every part of Torii? expand_more

The free version covers software records, renewal notice dates, licence evidence and internal decisions. Torii also discovers connected software and automates account activity. We scope those connections and team screens as part of your custom version before you switch.

What comes across from my Torii account? expand_more

Export the contract list from Renewals, with the fields and filters checked. We bring across the contract names, application names, status, dates and original values. Custom notice periods and seat fields need mapping. Extra fields stay with the source record. Attachments, connected usage and account automation need separate work.

Can it tell me which licences to cancel? expand_more

It identifies records worth reviewing, including stale observations and recently observed inactivity. It does not treat those as confirmed savings. An owner checks the evidence and records a recommendation. No account is revoked and no vendor is contacted.

Can I compare it with Sastrify or Zylo? expand_more

Yes. Compare the records, connections and operating support your team needs. Torii and Zylo provide software management platforms; Sastrify also offers procurement services. Our proposal covers your own register, the migration and the agreed work to operate it. The free version lets you test the review process first.

What do I pay Enterprise DNA, and who owns the result? expand_more

There is an agreed setup fee, then a monthly retainer if we run it for you. You own the database and the free base is open source. Your records, notes and decisions can be exported together. We agree the access controls, connections and support with you before installation.
