Instead of AMCS Wastedge

Stop renting AMCS Wastedge. Own your waste collection system.

For skip bin, commercial collection and demolition waste operators in Australia and New Zealand. We build your version around how your yard and your trucks run, bring your Wastedge customers, sites, services and bins across, and run it for you for one setup fee, then a monthly retainer that does not grow with every truck you add.

AMCS publishes no price for Wastedge. It is sold as an enterprise platform after a demo, with the weighbridge, the customer portals and payments as further modules, so the bill is whatever your quote and your renewal say.

What you pay for

What the Wastedge bill is really for

Wastedge is priced privately and sold in modules. Most of what the bill buys is screens over records that are already yours: customers, bins, jobs and dockets.

request_quote

A price you only see after a demo

There is no public price list. The number arrives in a quote, and the renewal is the vendor's to set.

extension

Modules for jobs you already do

Collections, accounts receivable, the mobile workforce, the weighbridge, the portals and payments each sit in their own part of the platform.

payments

Payments as an add-on

Taking card payments through the platform is a separate AMCS product connected to Wastedge, not part of the base.

insights

Reports someone else designed

Bin movements, route operations and customer revenue are on the menu. Margin after the tip fee for each customer and each load is the question you still answer in a spreadsheet.

dashboard

Screens over your own records

Customers, sites, bins, runs and tip dockets are your business's records. What you rent is the view over them.

event_repeat

A rent that never stops

Every year you trade, the system that holds your customers and your docket history is rented back to you.

What you get instead

One system you own, with the margin after every tip worked out

The margin

What every load leaves after the tip fee

Charges and costs from the same records: the hire, the tonnes over, the days over, and the docket.

  • check Each customer's takings against their tip fees for any period, thinnest margin first
  • check Every hire price checked against today's tip rate for the tonnes it includes, with the price that puts it back on target
  • check A facility rate rise recorded once names every customer price it pushes under target
  • check Ask which loads came in heaviest over what the bin includes and whether the excess was charged, which a revenue report cannot tell you

The yard and the trucks

Every bin, every run, every docket

The day planned from the records, and nothing marked done without the paper behind it.

  • check Every bin out with its days, the days past what the hire covers, and whether a collection is booked
  • check Run sheets per truck and driver, with each site's access notes and the paper each job needs
  • check Missed front lifts stay on the morning list until someone rebooks them
  • check A swap or collection with no tip docket is named the next morning, while the docket is still in the cab

The rules

Asbestos, road permits and licences checked before the truck leaves

The rules a Victorian waste operator lives under, built in as checks with their sources named.

  • check Asbestos cannot go on a run, or be marked moved, without its EPA Waste Tracker record
  • check Reportable priority waste goes only on a truck with a current EPA permission, and only to a facility licensed to take it
  • check A skip cannot go on the road without a council permit covering the day, inside the window the council allows
  • check No driver goes on a run their licence class does not cover, and no truck with lapsed registration

Billing and reports

Invoices from the dockets, reports from the tonnes

What the customer is charged follows what was weighed.

  • check Draft invoices for every hire and every month of lifts, with the excess tonnes and extra days set out line by line
  • check Contamination a driver noted is priced or waived before an invoice can be drafted
  • check A branded waste and diversion report for every account customer, by month and stream
  • check Overdue reminders, permit-ending notes and price review letters drafted for a person to send

Switching

How to switch from AMCS Wastedge

The move involves exporting the core lists, matching their fields, checking the test import, and deciding how much history to bring across.

  1. 1

    Export your core lists

From AMCS Wastedge, export your customer list, site list, scheduled services and bin register. Use the export format your account allows, usually CSV or Excel, and check with AMCS Wastedge if you are unsure what is available. Wastedge has no single published export layout, so the column names and structure may need to be matched before loading.

  2. 2

    Load a test run

Have the lists loaded into Waste Collection for Claude Code with a test run first. In plain terms, this checks how the records fit before they are added. The importer recognises common variations in column names, but your files still need to match what the system expects. If you have Enterprise DNA run the system, they handle this matching as part of the move.

  3. 3

    Review the flagged rows

Read the test results before loading the records for real. The importer names each row it could not read, so you can find missing or mismatched information and correct it rather than assuming everything came across. Customers, sites, scheduled services and the bin register are the lists that carry over. Enter tip rates from facility notices and prices from your current price list, since those start fresh.

  4. 4

    Run both systems briefly

Keep AMCS Wastedge running while you use the new system for a short period. Compare the records and day-to-day work in both, and check that the imported customers, sites, services and bins match what your team expects. Use this period to catch gaps in the data or rules before you rely on the new system alone. Do not switch off Wastedge until you are satisfied with the checks.

  5. 5

    Switch off Wastedge

Once your checks are complete and the new system is ready for your team, stop using AMCS Wastedge for live work. Keep any records or reports you need under your normal business record-keeping practices. Invoices are drafted from dockets in the new system, while sending invoices, taking payments and accounting remain in your accounts system.

construction

Where the real effort goes

The real work is usually matching your own field names and rules, then deciding how much history to bring across. The standard move covers customers, sites, scheduled services and the bin register. Tip rates and prices need to be entered fresh. If Enterprise DNA installs and runs the system for you, they handle the file matching and migration work.

Questions

Instead of AMCS Wastedge, answered

Is the free version really free? expand_more

Yes. It is open source under the MIT licence. Run it on your own computer or your own database, change anything, and you never need an account with us.

What about the drivers? Wastedge has an app. expand_more

The free version has no driver app. Drivers bring back their dockets and notes and the office enters them by saying so, which most small yards already do. A driver screen in the cab, writing into the same records, is something Enterprise DNA builds into your version.

Does it connect to our weighbridge? expand_more

Not in the free version. Tonnes come off the docket the facility gives you. If you run your own transfer station or gatehouse, a feed from the scale is part of a custom build.

Can we bring our history across from Wastedge? expand_more

Customers, sites, scheduled services and the bin register come across from the lists Wastedge lets you download, with a test run first that names every row it could not read. Wastedge has no single export layout, so matching your files is part of the move. Tip rates and prices are entered fresh from the facility notices and your price list, because every margin rests on them.

Does it take payments or do our accounts? expand_more

No, on purpose. It drafts the invoices from the dockets and keeps track of what is owed. Sending invoices, taking payment and the books stay in your accounts system, and one export hands it the invoices.

Find out what Wastedge costs your yard each year

Bring your last Wastedge invoice or renewal. In 30 minutes Sam works out what you pay per year, what you actually use, and what one system you own would replace it with. If it is a fit, we build it and run it. If it is not, take the free version and run it yourself.
