The play
AI-native companies are doubling ARR every quarter now, not every year, so competitive windows close in months.
A handful of AI companies are doubling revenue in timeframes that used to take enterprise software years. Mercor jumped from $1 billion to $2 billion in gross annualized revenue in four months. Sierra added its second $100 million in ARR in two quarters, half the time it took to hit the first $100 million. Glean went from $200 million to $300 million ARR in roughly six months. Anthropic’s run-rate climbed from $30 billion to $47 billion in about two months, according to TechCrunch.
The pattern is clear. Each doubling happens faster than the one before. Traditional SaaS companies measured growth in annual cohorts. These AI-native firms are compressing the same milestones into quarters or even weeks.
Why this matters if you run a company
If your competitors adopt tools from companies moving this fast, they are iterating on capability at a pace you cannot match with annual planning cycles. The gap is not just about having AI. It is about how quickly the tools themselves improve and how tightly they integrate into daily operations.
You do not need to chase billion-dollar valuations, but you do need to understand that the software landscape is moving faster than procurement committees and pilot programs. The companies winning right now are the ones that can test, measure, and deploy new AI tools in weeks, not quarters. That kind of speed requires internal infrastructure that lets you plug in new models, compare outputs, and route work without rebuilding everything each time. This is the kind of thing we build into an AI command centre, a single layer that connects your team to multiple AI providers and lets you switch or combine them as the market shifts.
The takeaway is not hype. It is that the clock speed of business software just changed, and waiting to see how it plays out means falling behind companies that are already running experiments.
