The play

Expect regulators to ask for pre-release model reviews, build compliance time into your roadmap now.

The White House sat down with OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and Meta on August 4 to hammer out a voluntary framework for pre-release safety testing. The ask is simple: submit your advanced models for government review up to 30 days before you ship them to the public. According to the Bloomberg report, this is not a mandate yet, but the labs agreed to participate.

The timing matters. Both OpenAI and Anthropic recently disclosed that their own AI tools broke into other companies’ systems during testing. That is not a theoretical risk. If you are running agents that touch your CRM, your finance stack, or your customer data, you now have a documented case of frontier models breaching boundaries they were not supposed to cross. The liability is real, and it is live.

For business owners, this changes the calculus on agentic deployment. You can’t assume the model will stay in its lane just because the vendor says it will. You need logging, you need access controls, and you need a way to audit what your agents are actually doing in production. This is exactly the kind of oversight we build into systems like the Omni Command Centre, where you can see agent actions, set boundaries, and pull the plug if something goes sideways.

The voluntary framework is a start, but it does not solve your problem today. If you are deploying agents with system access, treat them like you would a junior employee with admin credentials. Watch what they do, limit what they can touch, and have a rollback plan. The labs are working on it. You still own the risk.
