A small open-source project called Sprix picked up 678 stars in three days, and the reason is worth a few minutes even if you never touch code yourself. It’s a router that decides, for any given task, whether an AI agent should handle something itself, work with another agent, or hand the task off completely. The three states are named plainly: SELF, COLLABORATE, HANDOFF. That naming might sound like a small detail, but it points at a real problem more and more teams are running into.

If you’re using more than one AI tool or agent in your business, you’ve probably felt this already. One tool drafts an email, another checks the data, a third schedules the follow up. Right now, most businesses stitch these together by hand, or hope the tools talk to each other cleanly. They usually don’t. What the original report shows is multiple teams independently building their own version of the same fix: a clear, named pattern for when an agent should keep a task, pass it along, or team up on it. Last week we flagged a similar convergence with memory tools all landing on the same “Lore” naming idea. This is the same story in a different corner of the stack.

None of this means you need to adopt Sprix or any specific tool today. It’s early, it’s open source, and three days of star count tells you interest, not maturity. But it’s a signal worth watching, because when separate teams converge on the same pattern without coordinating, that pattern tends to become the standard everyone builds on.
