The play

Test named AI teammates for recurring workflows, measuring handoff quality, accountability, and completion time against your current process.

Cumora is an open-source chat app built around a simple idea: AI agents should appear as named teammates in the same shared conversations as your people. It launched strongly on GitHub, reaching 948 stars on day one and then doubling overnight. Six days later, it is still adding stars at a reported 458 per day, with 2,939 total, making it the #10 highest-velocity repository in the latest pull. You can see the project itself in Cumora’s GitHub repository.

The interesting part is not the star count on its own. Open-source projects often get a burst of attention after a Show HN launch, then interest drops away. Cumora’s growth has not followed that usual spike-and-flatline pattern so far. That suggests the underlying model is resonating: people may want AI agents to be visible participants in team work, with a name, a role, and a shared record of what they were asked to do.

For an operator, don’t read this as proof that Cumora is ready to run your company. GitHub attention is not the same as product maturity, security, or reliable business outcomes. But it is a useful signal about where workplace AI is heading. The likely interface is not a separate tool employees visit occasionally. It is a shared workspace where staff can ask a finance, operations, research, or support agent for help in context, and others can see the work.

This is the kind of thing we build into an AI command centre: agents connected to real business information, with clear roles and visibility for the people accountable for the result.
