The play
Pilot browser-based AI on repetitive administrative tasks, limiting permissions and requiring confirmation before purchases, messages, or record changes.
Anthropic has turned Claude in Chrome from a chat assistant into a fuller Cowork session inside the browser. Skills and connectors now work in the Chrome side panel, so Claude can take on tasks that involve the tabs, information and tools you’re already using. A task can also begin in the browser and continue on desktop, rather than being trapped in one place.
That matters because a lot of day-to-day work still happens across browser tabs. Checking information, pulling details into a document, moving between systems, and following repeatable processes are all browser-heavy jobs. This is a more concrete version of the promise that AI can handle parts of the work, not just answer questions about it. Anthropic says the feature is live for Max and Team users, with Pro still rolling out. You can see the company’s announcement in its update on the Chrome side panel.
For owners and operators, the immediate question isn’t whether to hand over every browser task. It’s which repetitive, low-risk workflows are clear enough to test. Start with work that has defined steps and a person reviewing the result, such as preparing research, gathering inputs or updating a routine report. This is the kind of thing we build into an AI command centre, where tasks, data sources and oversight need to work together rather than sit in separate AI tools.
