The play
Look for bundled back-office platforms that connect enquiries through invoicing, and compare their workflow coverage against your current software stack.
Sophiie AI has raised AUD $5 million in seed funding at a reported AUD $30 million valuation. The company is building software for trades businesses that brings customer enquiries, scheduling, job coordination, quotes and invoicing into one place. Archangel Ventures, Admiralty Capital Group, Antler and other investors backed the round.
The headline funding number matters less than the model behind it. Trades operators often run their back office across calls, text messages, spreadsheets, accounting tools and separate scheduling apps. Sophiie’s bet is that a single system managing the full flow of work is more valuable than a standalone AI feature. It says it is already live across thousands of businesses in Australia, New Zealand and the UK, growing 10 to 15% month on month, and is now expanding into the US. Those are company-reported figures, but they point to real demand for products that reduce admin across an entire operating process.
For business owners, the lesson isn’t to buy trade software. It’s to look at where your own team is stitching together too many tools to get one job done. The strongest AI businesses may not win by offering the cleverest chatbot. They may win by owning the workflow from first customer contact through to payment.
This is the kind of thing we build into an AI command centre, connecting the work that happens across your business rather than adding another isolated tool.
