The play
Prepare clearer security, retention, and procurement documentation, as AI vendors increasingly sell through enterprise risk and compliance teams.
OpenAI has replaced its Chief Revenue Officer for the second time in under a year. Dali Rajic takes over from Denise Dresser, who held the role for nine months. Rajic previously served as President and COO at Wiz, the cybersecurity company acquired by Google, and before that worked at Zscaler.
That background matters. OpenAI says it now has more than 2 million business customers, double the number from a year earlier, alongside more than 1 billion weekly active users. At that scale, selling AI to companies is no longer just about showing what a model can do. Buyers want clear answers on security, data handling, governance, reliability, and who is accountable when something goes wrong.
Putting a leader with deep cybersecurity experience into the revenue role suggests OpenAI is preparing for a tougher enterprise sales conversation. It also lines up with its recent push around zero data retention and stronger safety controls. For business owners, the signal is simple. AI vendors are being judged less on impressive demos and more on whether they can earn trust inside real operating environments.
This is the kind of thing we build into an AI command centre, helping teams track not only new AI capability, but the security and governance changes that affect whether a tool is ready for company-wide use.
