The play

Turn your brand guidelines into a reusable AI skill with fixed tokens, examples, and symptom-to-fix rules.

A small pattern is showing up in the Claude Code community. Independent builders have taken the same design book, Refactoring UI, and turned it into structured skills that Claude can follow while building interfaces.

These aren’t simple summaries of a book. The skills package practical design rules into something an AI coding assistant can use: fixed spacing, typography and colour scales, contrast-checked tokens, and a table that maps common visual problems to suggested fixes. At least four separate repositories have appeared with a very similar shape, apparently built independently. The newest one reached 291 GitHub stars in a day, according to the repository.

That matters because it points to a useful way of working with AI. Instead of asking a model to “make this look better”, a team can give it a defined set of rules that reflect how the business wants products, reports, dashboards, and customer-facing material to look. The AI has boundaries. It can move faster without inventing a different visual style every time.

For EDNA, this is worth watching as a template for turning brand and design-system rules into reusable instructions. The same approach could cover approved colours, chart conventions, dashboard layouts, tone of voice, and accessibility checks. This is the kind of thing we build into an AI command centre, where company rules become part of the way AI work gets done, rather than a PDF someone remembers to check later.
