The play

Watch whether dynamically generated workspaces improve employee throughput, then test one narrow internal workflow before broader adoption.

A small project called Panel appeared on Show HN with an interesting idea: instead of giving an AI agent one fixed chat window, it lets the agent construct interface panes as it works. It picked up 39 points and 8 comments on the day, which is modest attention but enough to put the pattern on the radar. The project is available in the original repository.

The practical point is not that every business needs an agent that designs its own screens. It’s that agents may become easier to work with when they can choose the right workspace for the job. A planning task might need a checklist and timeline. An analysis task might need tables, source notes and a chart. A support task might need a customer record beside a draft reply. Rather than forcing all of that through a long chat thread, the agent can assemble useful panes as needed.

For operators, this raises a simple question: where does your team lose context while working with AI? If people are constantly copying data between systems, hunting through chat history, or asking the same follow-up questions, a task-specific interface could matter more than a better prompt. This is the kind of thing we build into an AI command centre, where the agent, business context and working view belong together.
