A small new tracker, stale.jock.pl, ranks 20 major AI models by how current their underlying training knowledge appears to be. It gives you a quick way to see which models may be working from older information and which are more likely to have a more recent knowledge cutoff.

That matters because “AI can answer this” is not the same as “AI has the latest answer.” If your team uses a model for market research, policy questions, competitor checks, product information, or current events, an older cutoff can quietly create bad assumptions. The model may sound confident while missing developments that happened after its training data stopped.

This kind of tracker is useful as a reference point, not as a final verdict on model quality. A model with older training data may still be the better choice for writing, analysis, coding, or work using your own internal documents. But when freshness matters, your team should know which tool they are using and whether it can access current information through web search or connected data sources.
