AI Pulse · Frontier Labs Watch
The play
Add AGI policy scenarios to workforce planning, including productivity gains, job redesign, and possible changes to regulation.
Google DeepMind’s institute has published a new essay setting out its view on economic policy for AGI, ahead of what it expects will be a broader regulatory debate. You can read the original report.
There are no new rules here, and the essay itself does not change how any business needs to operate this week. But it is a useful signal. One of the major frontier AI labs is putting economic policy on the table early, not just technical safety or model capability. That means future AI discussions may increasingly cover who benefits, how gains are shared, what market rules might be needed, and how governments respond if AI changes work and productivity at scale.
For business owners, the practical takeaway is to watch policy as closely as product releases. The biggest AI tools may arrive quickly, but the conditions around using them, competing with them, hiring around them, or reporting on them could be shaped by decisions outside your company. You do not need to predict AGI to prepare for that. You need a clear view of where AI is already entering your operations, where dependence is growing, and where policy changes could create risk or opportunity.
This is the kind of thing we build into an AI command centre, connecting external AI developments to the parts of the business that may actually be affected.
