The play
When adopting multiple agents, require session portability or export APIs to preserve context and switching flexibility.
Skillsync has launched a cross-agent session portability tool as part of the YC W26 batch. The basic idea is straightforward. Work started with one AI agent should be able to move to another agent without losing the context, decisions, and progress built up in that session. The launch is still fresh, and the public detail is limited, but it sits squarely inside a growing concern for businesses using more than one AI product: getting trapped inside a single provider’s workflow. You can see the initial launch discussion in the YC listing.
For an operator, this matters because AI work rarely stays neat. A team might research with one tool, draft with another, then need a specialist agent for analysis, customer support, or code. If each system starts from zero, people end up copying prompts, pasting documents, and manually explaining what has already happened. That adds friction, but it also creates errors when important context gets missed.
Session portability is not the whole answer to multi-agent work. Businesses still need clear rules around data access, approvals, ownership, and where records are stored. But tools that make context transferable could reduce the cost of testing new agents and changing providers later.
This is the kind of thing we build into an AI command centre, where the aim is to keep work, context, and controls connected even as the underlying AI tools change.
