A small Claude Code plugin is getting attention because it tackles a practical problem with AI agents, what to remember and what to forget. Jev replaces the usual compaction summary with a scoring approach for each tool call. It keeps items verbatim when they still matter, while dropping context that has become stale.

That sounds technical, but the business implication is straightforward. Agents working across longer tasks can lose important details when their context gets compressed into a short summary. They can also carry too much old information, which makes them less focused and potentially less reliable. A better memory process aims to preserve the useful evidence, decisions, and outputs without filling the working context with yesterday’s noise.

The project reached 4,066 GitHub stars in three days, a reported velocity of 1,588 stars per day, according to the project repository. Stars do not prove a tool works in production, but they do show that developers are paying close attention to this problem.

For operators building agent workflows, the lesson is not to copy a plugin because it is popular. It is to treat memory design as a core operating decision. Define what an agent must retain, what can be summarised, and what should expire. This is the kind of thing we build into an AI command centre, because reliable agents need disciplined context, not just a good model.
