The play
Expect consumer comfort with agents to rise, and prepare clear permissions, escalation paths, and customer education for agent-led interactions.
A first-person account of using Meta’s AI agent extensively has landed across major Australian mastheads, including SMH, The Age, WAtoday and Brisbane Times. That matters less because one reporter had a strong experience, and more because consumer AI agents are now being presented to a mainstream Australian audience as something for everyday life, not just a tool for tech teams.
The report gives Meta a familiar, practical frame. An AI agent can sit alongside a person’s day, help organise tasks and reduce small bits of admin. We only have one reporter’s account, so it is not proof that the experience will be consistent for every user or every business. But broad syndication means the idea itself is reaching a much wider audience. Your customers and staff are increasingly likely to arrive with expectations that AI should be able to help them get things done, not just answer questions.
For business owners, the useful question is not whether Meta’s agent is the best option. It is where repetitive coordination, information chasing and routine decisions are slowing your team down today. Start with the work that has clear inputs, clear rules and a human who can check the output. This is the kind of thing we build into an AI command centre, bringing useful AI activity into a place leaders can see and manage.
