New acronym pitched to replace "GPT" confusion

The play

Replace model jargon in customer-facing materials with plain outcomes, while watching whether GPC gains adoption beyond social media discussion.

A new acronym is being pitched for a familiar problem. Ruben Hassid has launched “GPC” as a simpler way to talk about generative AI tools, arguing that labels like GPT, LLM and model version numbers put off people who aren’t technical.

His point is practical. Most business owners don’t need to know which model sits underneath a tool before they can use it well. They need to know what it can do, where it fits in a process, what data it can access, and where a person still needs to check the output. Hassid’s LinkedIn post drew 223 comments, which suggests the jargon issue is hitting a nerve, even if it’s far too early to say whether “GPC” will catch on. You can see the original post here.

For operators, the useful lesson is not the acronym. It’s the language you use internally. If your AI discussions are full of model names, prompts and technical terms, some of your best process experts may stay quiet because they think AI is not their area. Start with the job instead. “Can we reduce time spent preparing this report?” is a better question than “Which GPT should we use?”

This is the kind of thing we build into an AI command centre, giving teams a clear view of the business tasks AI can support rather than making them navigate model jargon.
